Josh Dallas is Bex’s ‘Big Shipper’, Shane in the Hunting Party

Hunting PartyBex and Shane have plenty of fans rooting for their love story – including Melissa Roxburgh‘s Show the costar Josh Dallas.
“I know [about them]. I was on the road and I’m a big shipper of this,” Dallas, 47, revealed Us Weekly about fictional romance. “I want this to happen and I think it’s going to be great.”
Dallas has pleaded that the NBC series relies on a “slow burn” between Bex (Roxburgh) and Shane (Josh McKenzie). Roxburgh, 33, couldn’t help but agree, he said Us that “a little hot is good” when it comes to on-screen romance.
“What makes you keep the episode of the game is the killer and the height of what is happening and the madness that these killers are doing,” he said. “But I think what sticks in your mind as you go through the show is like, ‘But will they or won’t they? What’s going on there? So I think everybody likes the will or won’t they?’
Hunting Partywhich premiered in 2025, is a crime procedural about detectives assembled to track down and capture the country’s most dangerous killers. The twist? Criminals have escaped from a secret prison that shouldn’t exist.
Roxburgh’s character is a former FBI agent who was recruited into the team because of his reputation as a photographer who captured the world’s most dangerous serial killers. After previous contact with Oliver (Nick Wechsler), who was killed at the beginning of season 2, viewers focused their attention on Bex and Shane.

“As far as the actors are concerned, I always enjoy the history and the relationships where they seem to have been through a lot together,” Roxburgh previously said. Us in February 2025. “If they do this love story and love triangle, Shane is safe and calm and cool. We have a bad guy who killed someone and he had a reason. We have someone who didn’t kill anyone. We’ll see.”
Elsewhere in the show, Roxburgh was able to reunite with Dallas afterwards Show on the Thursday, April 2, episode of the hit NBC series.
“I couldn’t be happier with this character. Yes, he has Satan. But it was fun and exciting to be able to play someone with morals that were so different from anything I’ve ever played before,” Dallas recalled. “But putting that aside, getting back on screen and reuniting with Melissa was a high point for me.”
Roxburgh “tried to get Josh on the show” several times before the right role came up.
“I’ve been trying to get him into the program for a long time and finally he was free,” he told Us. “We’ve been talking back and forth about when that might happen. There was another episode – I won’t say which one – we were trying to get him.”
He concluded: “This was a good fit for him because his killer is a shoemaker. I know Josh Dallas likes good clothes so we got him good things.”
