Euphoria is finally returning for its third season on HBO following major delays and many off-screen deaths.
HBO has released a first look after previously confirming that the show will return on April 12. In a press release, the creator. Sam Levinson anointed storylines for each character in the show’s final season.
“We’re picking up Rue [Zendaya] south of the border in Mexico, he owes Laurie [Martha Kelly]I’m trying to come up with new ways to pay it,” he revealed about Rue ending season 2 drunk – but owing money to a drug dealer after being threatened with human trafficking.
Levinson went on to talk about where the other characters ended up after the time jump.
“Then Cassie [Sydney Sweeney] she lives in the countryside with Nate [Jacob Elordi],” he added: “They’re engaged and she’s very into social media and jealous of what seems to be a great life that all of her high school classmates are living at this point.”
Levinson promised “the best season yet,” sharing, “I’m going to say that Cassie and Nate are actually getting married. I guarantee it. And I promise it’s going to be a night I’ll never forget.”
Hunter SchaferJules will be “in art school, terrified of having a career as an artist and trying to avoid commitment at all costs.” maddy (Alexa Demie), on the other hand, “he works in Hollywood at a talent agency for a manager, obviously he has his own best interests.”
Euphoria fans have watched the cast change on and off screen since the series first aired. Euphoria, which premiered in 2019, originally followed troubled high school student Rue as she struggles to stay sober after rehab. The hit HBO series was quickly renewed for a second season after its premiere, but it took almost three years for the episodes to air.
Season 3 was originally slated for HBO in 2025 before facing several obstacles, including Levinson’s commitment to her short-lived series Idol. Two strikes by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA, which occurred in late 2023, extended the delay.
Since the end of season 2, the cast has been lost in time Angus Cloud died at age 25 in July 2023 following an accidental overdose.
