‘Summer House’ Stars Amanda Batula and West Wilson Shock All Bravo Fandom With Joint Statement Confirming Their Love: “This Is Still Very New”
It’s been a CRAZY month for reality TV fans. As if Taylor Frankie Paul’s season was cancelled The Bachelorette or Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Jessi Draper’s impending divorce wasn’t enough drama for one month, the new scandal involved Summer House stars Amanda Batula and West Wilson also appeared.
Rumors about the alleged romance between Wilson and Batula, who announced her split from Kyle Cooke in February, first started on the celebrity gossip Instagram page, Deux Moi. While most of us Bravo fans initially dismissed these rumors as false, some of the secret social media activities emerging Summer House last weekend’s casting seemed to indicate that there are issues, especially between Batula and Ciara Miller, Wilson’s ex. Today, Batula and Wilson finally addressed the rumors in a joint statement confirming their budding romance.
“We have seen an increase in speculation online, so although it is still very new, we wanted to clarify something,” they wrote in a statement. “It wasn’t our intention to hide anything on purpose. Given the complicated relationship that exists and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before talking about it.”
“We have seen each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and the latest development was the last thing we both expected,” they continued. “Our connection grew into a true friendship that has lasted a long time, which made it very important for us to approach this carefully.”
They added, “As our emotions change, we wanted to take the time to truly understand how we felt. We also recognize that this has impacted more than just us and did not want our actions to cause any harm or be seen as careless. We truly appreciate your understanding and respect as we navigate this.”
The news, of course, is a shock to the Bravo universe. Not only is Wilson close friends with Cooke, Batula’s estranged husband, but she also dated Miller, one of Batula’s best friends. As seen in the current broadcast era of summer house, Eventually Miller and Wilson get back to a good place in their friendship, and both even admit that they still have feelings for each other. So, what went wrong?! How did they keep Batula and Wilson instead?! These are the questions the Season 10 reunion is sure to answer. In fact, we bet Andy Cohen is shuffling his cards as we speak.
Fans rushed to Miller’s defense on social media.
“This is worse than “scandoval,” one wrote on X. “Amanda is still married to Kyle. Ciara was there for Amanda. They were really good friends. West was leading Ciara this season, and playing with her emotions. Kyle and Ciara were stabbed in the back. Amanda and West are trash.”
One added, “I pray that Ciara is done, done, done with both of these hypocrites,” while another said, “It’s not fair. New York is big enough to find someone other than your husband’s friend or your friend’s ex-boyfriend.”
