You don’t want to be the last person in your group text to see a Bigfoot — er, a Bigfoot emoji — that happens to be one of them. eight new icons in the middle Apple iOS 26.4 update out this week.

If you’ve been feeling frustrated by making typos on your iPhone, maybe this update can fix things up a bit. (Or you know, there’s always new ways to express frustration with a new emoji. A sad trombone, maybe?)
This week’s episode of One More Thing, embedded above, surpasses many major changes in iOS 26.4including finding concerts on Apple Music and using AI to create playlists.
It’s hard to keep up with what music acts are coming to my area, but now Apple Music shows upcoming home concerts, and not just popular artists. I saw Jimmy Eat World play in June, and clicking for tickets takes me to a portal to connect to the Bandsintown service… and alas, the performance is sold out. It allowed me to order tickets from mark-up sellers. Totally feeling after that.
There’s also a feature called Playlist Playground, which uses AI to create playlists based on the notifications you feed and the music you tend to like.
I asked it to show me “music because I’m upset I didn’t get tickets to see Jimmy Eat World,” and it came back with Emotionally Charged Emo Anthems of Missing Jimmy Eat World. The playlist included early 2000s emo-rock heroes, such as Saves The Day, Taking Back Sunday, New Found Glory, Yellowcard and Something Corporate.
You can continue editing before you save. I had to tell it to add Jimmy Eat World to the playlist, funny enough. The app is in beta, but you don’t need to have a special Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone to try it out — a feature that’s universal. Apple Music user, including Apple Music for Android.
Meanwhile, the Podcasts app also got a new feature to include a way to watch your favorite video versions of podcasts — if the app is set to switch between audio and video.
But even if that doesn’t make you happy enough, sometimes it’s about the simple fixes that make an iOS update worth it. There are new settings for manage payment methods for adults in the family which uses share buying. There are improvements to the accessibility setting to reduce glare effects and to reduce Liquid Glass animations.
There’s also a new ambient music widget that can switch to some meditative, soothing music at any time. Like when you need to chill about that Jimmy Eat World concert you didn’t know existed until you updated your phone. Sheesh.
