Most Short-Lived TV Shows – Including Those Canceled Before Airing

Not all TV shows have been a success story – with some projects being canceled before the episodes aired.

NBC The Playboy Club aired only three episodes in 2011 before the show was canceled. The network cited low ratings as the reason for the decision to cancel the show, which was eventually replaced Rock Center With Brian Williams and repeats episodes of Maria Bello‘s The Chief Suspect.

“We are excited about the way both shows have been created and the opportunity for them to continue to build loyal viewers in the coming months,” NBC Entertainment Chairman. ‘Promised Land’ (ABC)

The drama series, which began in 2022, followed two Latino families vying for wealth and power in California’s Sonoma Valley. The show aired on ABC for five episodes and another season on Hulu before it was eventually canceled.

‘Hank’ (ABC)

It’s playing Kelsey GrammerHank focused on a Wall Street executive who lost his job and, as a result, reunited with his small-town family. Five episodes aired in 2009 before ABC confirmed they had “no immediate plans” to release the rest of the series.

‘It Connects’ (NBC)

Set against the backdrop of the COVID pandemic, Connecting follows the lives of a group of friends trying to stay connected during the lockdown. NBC aired just four episodes in 2020 before moving the entire season to Peacock.

‘Drive’ (Fox)

Drive introduced viewers to an illegal cross-country car race. Despite the star-studded cast they included Nathan Fillion, Emma Stone again Melanie Lynskeythe 2007 show — the first to host a live Twitter session during an episode — was canceled for four episodes.

Ironwhich first aired in 2013, was a memoir about a police counselor who was paralyzed from the waist down after being shot while on vacation.

The 2019 series focused on a former New York City councilman who found his calling while helping needy immigrants.

‘The Playboy Club’ (NBC)

‘Smith’ (CBS)

The show followed a team of professional thieves who struggled to keep their profession unique throughout their lives. Three episodes later, CBS pulled the plug and another season was not aired.

‘Wicked City’ (ABC)

‘Viva Laughlin’ (CBS)

Viva Laughlin was a musical drama centered on a businessman who wanted to operate a casino in Nevada. This show, which aired only two episodes in 2007, aired Mädchen Amick, Eric Winter, DB Woodside, Hugh Jackman again Melanie Griffith.

‘The Good Life’ (The CW)

In 2009 it aired on the CW, Good health revolved around a group of male and female models living in a New York City apartment. Actors included Mischa Barton, Sara Paxton, Ben Hollingsworth, Corbin Bleu, Nico Tortorella, Ashley Madekwe again El Macpherson.

‘Swamp Thing’ (DC Universe)

Based on the DC Comics character of the same name, Swamp thing was introduced Crystal Reed as a doctor who encounters a Swamp Thing – a plant creature that fights against the brutal forces of a Louisiana swamp. One episode aired before DC Universe pulled the plug.

Based on the novel by Carrie Gerlach, Emily reasons why not revolved around a successful woman in Los Angeles who failed to find The One. Heather Graham starred as the main character in the 2006 series, which was canceled after one episode due to poor reception.

‘The Osbournes Reloaded’ (Fox)

Hosted by the Osbourne family, The Osbournes reloaded it was a variety show that included sketches, stunts, celebrity cameos, live audience participation and live musical acts. There were even skits featuring the Osbournes that never saw the light of day after 14 percent of Fox affiliates threatened to pull the plug.

‘Tina Nabo’ (Fox)
