TMZ released an 18-minute video of the “What Goes Around” singer’s arrest on Friday, March 20, showing Timberlake, 45, performing a roadside sobriety test after being pulled over in Sag Harbor, New York in 2024.
“These are tough tests,” Timberlake said at one point as he tried to follow the instructions of police officers conducting sobriety tests.
In one part of the footage, Timberlake commented, “My heart is pounding,” after police shined a flashlight in his eyes and asked him to walk in a straight line.
Timberlake was eventually handcuffed and arrested and his female friend was listed as driving his car home from the scene.
“Are you arresting Justin Timberlake right now?” A friend asked the police when he saw the seriousness of the situation.
He added, “Can you do me a favor because you liked ‘Bye Bye Bye’ or ‘Sexyback?’ Do me one favor!”
Timberlake tried to block the release of the body camera footage by filing a lawsuit against the Sag Harbor Police Department, Us Weekly previously confirmed.

Timberlake took legal action after a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was filed by members of the media in an attempt to obtain the recordings.
In court documents obtained by UsTimberlake asserted that he is shown “in a very vulnerable position during a roadside encounter with law enforcement.”
In June 2024, Us Weekly confirmed that Timberlake was taken into custody after being charged with drunken driving.
The Sag Harbor Police Department later released a statement about Timberlake’s arrest. “On June 18, 2024, at 12:37 AM, Justin R. Timberlake, age 43, of Tennessee, was observed operating a 2025 BMW southbound on Madison Street, failing to stop at a posted stop and failing to maintain his lane of travel. His vehicle was intoxicated.”
The statement continued, “Mr. Timberlake was arrested, processed, and arraigned overnight for arraignment in the morning. Mr. Timberlake appeared in Sag Harbor Village Justice Court on June 18, 2024, at 9:30 AM where he was released on his own recognizance.”
Timberlake, who was in the middle of his Forget Tomorrow tour when he was arrested, caused an uproar when he reportedly said, “This is going to ruin the tour,” during the altercation.
The singer later spoke about his arrest when he appeared in court in September 2024.
“I’m trying to hold myself to the highest level – and it wasn’t,” he told reporters at the time, according to. ABC News. “I found myself in a situation where I could have made a different decision, but I had time to think about it.”
He continued, “What I would like to say to everyone watching and listening: Even if you’ve had one drink, don’t get behind the wheel of a car. There are many other ways. Call a friend, take Uber, there are many travel apps.” [or] take a taxi. This is a mistake I made, but I hope that anyone watching and listening right now can learn from this mistake.”
