Former TLC cast member Joseph Duggar was arrested on Wednesday, March 18, after being accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl in 2020.
Wednesday’s arrest marks the second child sexual assault case to hit the famous family following Joseph’s older brother Josh Duggar‘s child is sentenced to pornography. Josh was sentenced to 151 months in state prison in December 2021.
The Duggar family rose to fame with their TLC show 19 Children and countingwhich premiered in 2008. The suspect is 31 years old 19 Children and counting student was arrested at approximately 3 pm on Wednesday, March 18, by the Tontitown Police Department in Arkansas. Authorities obtained a warrant for Bay County, which is where the incident occurred, according to a statement issued by the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.

A press release from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office reveals two charges against Joseph. First: lewd and lascivious behavior involving the molestation of a victim under the age of 12. Second: lewd and lascivious behavior by a person 18 years of age or older.
Who Sued Joseph Duggar?
The alleged victim is a 14-year-old girl, and the alleged incident took place in 2020 – almost six years before his arrest. Joseph is accused of sexually assaulting a girl while they were on a family vacation in Panama City Beach when she was 9 years old.
“The victim reported that Duggar repeatedly asked her to sit on his lap,” Bay City police said in a statement. “As the holiday went on, he again asked her to sit next to him on the sofa and then covered them with a blanket. At this time, Duggar was holding the deceased’s underwear while eating his genitals. Duggar was also rubbing his hands on her thighs.
