The new details come after an LA pol said he was targeted by police for being black

The president of the Los Angeles City Council has been heavily criticized for his feelings that he was targeted by the police because he is black.

Marqueece Harris-Dawson told colleagues she was fired without reason and questioned by police about her work, describing the experience as racist.

But police have released new information against the politician, showing that he was pulled over by the Los Angeles Police Department for a traffic violation on school property.

Sources also revealed that he had reached out to top brass at the Los Angeles Unified School District during the incident to try to get the cating out.

The board of directors of the Los Angeles Police Protective League said Harris-Dawson deserved an Oscar for her work trying to get rid of the crime.

A spokesperson told the California Post: “City Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson’s attempt to influence public policy by crafting a chilling and self-serving personal account of an incident that leaves out the hard facts about the incident is both unethical and an outright lie.”

“If there were an Academy Award category for fictional stories told by elected officials, Mr. Harris-Dawson’s theatrical performance at the city council hearing would earn him an Oscar at Sunday’s ceremony.”

Harris-Dawson told colleagues last week that traffic stops in Los Angeles are “racist,” saying 85% involve “black and brown” drivers.

He then described what he called a difficult incident with the police earlier that week, saying that the police were investigating him about his car and his job in the city.

“Actually, I am the president of the council,” he told them as he stood on the corner of the street going to the committee meeting.

The lawyer was visibly upset when recounting the incident, saying the incident was “very painful on Wednesday as I am 16 years old.”

But the police disputed his account, saying that the incident was not carried out by the LAPD – as Harris-Dawson claimed – but by officers from the Los Angeles School Police Department during an early morning drop-off near the high school.

Officials said an officer stopped Harris-Dawson after observing a traffic violation on school property. Now, newly revealed information paints a clearer picture of what allegedly happened before the stop.

Police say Harris-Dawson first caught the officer’s eye by driving erratically on the freeway.

He then pulled out directly in front of the patrol car and crossed the center divider to make an illegal U-turn – a maneuver prohibited under California law that carries a $238 fine, adds a point to a driver’s DMV record and can lead to higher insurance payments.

The authorities said that this violation of the law happened near the school when the children came to leave in the morning.

A senior source also confirmed that Harris-Dawson contacted a member of the Los Angeles Unified School District board during the traffic stop in an apparent attempt to get off the topic.

The newspaper contacted Harris-Dawson for comment on the allegations but he did not respond. These allegations have caused an uproar in the city’s powerful police union.

In a scathing statement, the union representing nearly 10,000 members of the LAPD accused the council president of misleading the public and urged authorities to “put an end to this unethical and heinous incident.”

A spokesman told the Post: “As the British historian Lord Acton said, ‘Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely,'” the spokesman told the Post. Full Stop.”

The dispute comes as the Los Angeles City Council has been debating whether to limit or ban certain traffic stops — where police pull over drivers for minor offenses while investigating other possible crimes.

While those stops are legal under federal law, critics say they are often used as a pretext for racial profiling.

Harris-Dawson gave an example of her experience during the hearing – although she did not disclose at the time that she received a traffic citation during the stop.

The council president also said he has been pulled over four times while driving a government-issued vehicle with an “E-plate,” referring to a city vehicle.

“As a Member of the Council, I drive a government-issued car with an E-plate, I have been stopped four times,” he wrote on Facebook, linking to a video of his testimony.

The latest revelation, however, has fueled criticism from lawmakers who say the council president misrepresented the incident – turning what they say was a routine traffic stop into a political rally.

“If the reports are true that he called a school board member in Los Angeles during an official traffic stop so that the board member could speak to a police officer during the stop, an investigation must be opened to determine whether Mr. Harris-Dawson asked the school board member to do so,” said the union attorney.
