Why Britney Spears’ mugshot was not released after her DUI arrest

Britney Spears’ gun will not be released after she was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving earlier this month.
The “Toxic” singer’s booking photo doesn’t meet the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office’s mandatory requirements to make it public, an official told TMZ on Tuesday.
According to a newspaper report, the department only releases criminals for violent crimes or if the suspect is a threat to the public, which Spears is not.
A representative for the sheriff’s office could not immediately be reached by Page Six for comment.
The Princess of Pop, 44, was arrested for DUI while driving in Ventura County, Calif., around 9:30 p.m. local time on March 4.
Spears was allegedly driving his BMW on the freeway “at a high rate of speed” when the California Highway Patrol pulled him over.
He was booked at 3:02 am and released three hours later.
Police told Page Six that the Grammy winner was believed to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
Spears has taken multiple sobriety tests, and her chemical test results have not been released.
His trial date is set for May 4.
The “Gimme More” singer’s manager told Page Six that her arrest was “unfortunate” and “absolutely inexcusable.”
“Britney will take appropriate action and comply with the law and hopefully this will be the first step in a long overdue change in Britney’s life,” said Cade Hudson.
“I hope he can get the help and support he needs in this difficult time,” he continued.
An insider told Page Six that Spears was “crying and in tears” when she was arrested and she “didn’t want to embarrass anyone, including her fans.”
TMZ reported that the hit singer had a “good” and “hopeful” talk with his mother, Lynne Spears, and sons, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, after his release, though we’re told he’s “on edge” about the possibility of his father, Jamie, returning to his life.
