Maren Morris Sends a Message to Donald Trump’s Fans

A country music star Maren Morris he sends a message to the President’s supporters Donald Trump.

“I have no forgiveness for the three Trumpers or the Trumpers,” said Morris, 35, on Friday, March 6, on TikTok. “You voted for this. You’re a demented, diaper-wearing, cornball, former TV host … you voted for this and you got bamboozled.”

He continued, “This is the real result of naming and voting for losers.”

Morris has been outspoken about his political stance over the years, and how that has spilled over into country music. In January, Morris shared that the “choices” she’s made over the years “being a woman in music, especially country music, over the years, have been very calculated.”

“I’ve been very lucky in country music,” Morris said in a January TikTok video. “I put out my first single, ‘My Week,’ and it ended up being added af***ton to country radio and it didn’t go to No. 1 but it was really big at the time. I got a Grammy for it.”

He went on to say, “I had the best year of my life professionally, um, but then I started to see – my first album, A heroand ‘My Church,’ came out in June of 2016 and Trump won in November of 2016. So all my success, like my first record was under this first year of the Trump administration. So surprisingly the whole thing felt very political, even though, no one really cared that much before. “

Morris explained that the “last 10 years” of his career have been navigating country music under the “Trump presidency, [former president Joe] Bidenthen Trump again. ” He added that “it’s been interesting to see the country music scene become more political.”

“And in the last couple of years I’ve taken steps during Covid, I’ve posted all that – I’m divorced, I’m like a single mum now and I’m in my own weird music space,” she said. “It’s really sad because I love my Texas roots, I love country music, I love Nashville – I live here. [and] I haven’t lived anywhere else in the last 15 years – but it’s too hot. Like, no one is too friendly. “

While Morris noted that “some people are cool” in country music, “it’s been so bad at these award shows and s***,” adding, “I don’t really go to them anymore, but it’s gotten really intense.”
“But you can’t be a full-fledged songwriter and, you know, show the truth and live through a song without being political,” he continued. “Like, I’m sorry, it is what it is … I try to be kind, I try to be kind, but there are people and forces in my field of work the last few years that have put me down. So, I’ve come out in some ways. But I still love country music.”

Morris went on to shout out his loyal fans before commenting that he’s “lost a lot of fans over the years because [her] ideas.”

“I think that’s fine,” Morris said of people who decide not to listen to his music because of his personal and political views. “If you don’t agree with me, you can’t enjoy my music because of my opinions, you’re totally allowed to do that.”

He continued, “But I’m only here to have a revolution around the sun, a couple, so I feel like I’ve sacrificed a lot of my mental health, my financial situation, my family, just because I’m so worried and uncomfortable with the weird state of country music.
