For most of his professional boxing career, Regis Prograis fought at 140, but compared to Benn, he agreed to fight at 150.

Back in October 2019, the then WBA super-lightweight world champion Regis Prograis fought the IBF champion, Josh Taylor. The compilation competition was highly competitive, but at the end of the competition, Taylor was declared the winner.

After losing his world title, Prograis would have to wait three years before getting a chance to fight for the gold championship. On November 26, 2022, Regis Prograis stopped Jose Zepeda in the 11th round and won the WBC belt.

Prograis will continue to host a home fight at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. It didn’t work out well, but Prograis won the belt via split decision.
Six months later, Prograis suffered the second loss of his pro career when Devin Haney defeated him by unanimous decision. Prograis tried to make a comeback, but the attempt failed as he was defeated by Jack Catterall.

In his most recent ring appearance, Prograis was involved in a hilarious firefight. Jo Jo Diaz had her moments, but Prograis got the unanimous decision victory.

Now 37-year-old two-time world champion Regis “Rougarou” Prograis (30-3, 24 KOs) is about to face a much more dangerous opponent. Conor Benn is an explosive, fast, and powerful boxer.

To stay in the top tier, southpaw Regis Prograis should look impressive against Conor Benn. Prograis hasn’t put together an eye-catching performance since 2022.

Going into his fight with Benn, the biggest question mark surrounds Prograis’ boxing resistance. In his return game, it looked like Danielto Zorrilla knocked Prograis down for the first time, but the referee ruled it as a slip.

In his last three games, Regis Prograis was knocked out by Devin Haney, knocked out by Jack Catterall, and knocked out multiple times by Jo Jo Diaz. Prograis’ chin will be tested again on April 11 when he steps into the ring to face the hard-hitting Conor Benn.

Although he has just entered the ring, Prograis is confident that he will beat Benn because he has been training with young boxers, and the thing he was missing is back in his life.

“I’ve reworked my career, and I feel like that’s what I have now, like that hunger again. I feel like you know sometimes you’re free and you lose that, and now I feel like I have,” said Prograis during an interview with The Ring.

Regis Prograis was defeated by Josh Taylor in 2019, and defeated by Jack Catterall in 2024. Currently, Prograis has a 0-2 record while fighting in the United Kingdom. However, Prograis believes that the third time will be the charm.

“I can’t predict things like that. I never think I’m going to lose a fight, you know. I can’t say that, you know, but I’m going to go out there, and I’m going to shine. I feel like I’m going to shine.”
