When the duo’s reader reminded them that the comment was a reference to Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl,” since “New Heights” was released from the album “Wood,” Travis gave a tongue-in-cheek response.
“I didn’t understand that,” he said, “Taylor will kill me for not knowing that.”
Jokes aside, Travis and Swift, who got engaged in August 2025 after dating for two years, have enjoyed some quality time together in recent weeks. Stepping out of a casual night out in Los Angeles on January 12, the couple were spotted heading to dinner at Beverly Hills restaurant Funke. Photographed from photographs obtained by TMZ at the time, Swift rocked a gray blazer while Travis wore a green, brown and tan bowling shirt as they exited the car and entered the restaurant.
The exit comes amid speculation about the future of Travis’ football career, with the NFL star rumored to be retiring. Although no official announcement has been made yet, his teammates were seen starting the celebrations to say goodbye to him in the January 4 game between the Chiefs and the Las Vegas Raiders.
According to an article published by a local news agency Kansas City Star after the game, which saw the Raiders win 14-12, the third-string quarterback Chris Oladokun holding out his hand to Travis in the locker room. “Man, thank you,” Oladokun, 28, reportedly told him.
Additionally, the outlet reported that he is a linebacker Cole Christiansen and said to Travis: “Whatever happens, it’s been an honor to play with you.”
Travis said on the Jan. 7 episode of “New Heights” that he’s looking forward to “being a normal person” when he’s done playing football. “Every season ends for me, I just put my feet up and be a person, because I was putting my body to the test for the love of it,” he told Jason during the program.
He continued, “I enjoy playing football and the physicality of it, I think there is something about feeling the wear and tear of the football season, getting ready for a game knowing that your body is going down. I think there is something about it, it makes you feel like a small animal that is just here finding a way to survive.”
