What I Love About You is finally streaming on Netflix – but the theme song will sound a little different.
The hit WB sitcom, which ran from 2002 to 2004, followed the lives of two sisters living together in New York City – teenage Holly (Amanda Bynes) and older sister, Val (Jennie Garth). In addition to Bynes and Garth is a star-studded series Simon Rex, Wesley Jonathan, Leslie Grossman, Michael McMillian, Nick Zano, Allison Munn, Dan Cortese, Edward Kerr again David de Lautour.
What I Love About You drew inspiration for its show title from the 1980 song of the same name by American rock group The Romantics. A cover of the song – performed by Canadian rock band Lillix – was used for the theme song after being heard It’s scary Friday again 13 Continued 30 soundtracks.
Season 2 featured a remixed dance style version, which was the theme song for the entire series. The cost of music and rights – along with various DVD and streaming releases – led to the theme song replacing Lillix’s cover.

What Is The Theme Song To ‘What I Love About You’?
In Season 1, a cover of The Romantics’ What I Like About You played after the opening title sequence. It changed for the next three seasons with a remixed dance style theme created by Philip Steirwho composed all the music for the rest of the series.
When Did The Song ‘What I Love About You’ Change?
Wally Palmar, Mike Skill, Rich Cole again Jimmy Marinos wrote the 1980 song “What I Like About You,” which served as the inspiration for the show’s title. Rock band Lillix sang a cover featured in season 1 before it was replaced when Warner Home Video released the complete first season on DVD in 2007.
Due to serious music licensing issues, Lillix’s cover of the theme song was removed and replaced with a standard song produced exclusively for the DVD version. Low sales and the high cost of obtaining music licenses did not result in other seasons being given a standard retail release. (Other seasons were eventually released by Warner Archive from 2017 to 2019.)
