Kelly Giddish returns to Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (SVU) – the show where she met her husband, Beau Richards.
Giddish, who rejoins SVU starred in season 27 as Sergeant Amanda Rollins, opened up about meeting Richards during an interview Today on February 9, 2026.
Although she didn’t share the exact day she first met Richards, she did share an insight into when she knew their relationship had changed, which all started when he worked as her driver.
“We became friends and then it turned into a love affair,” he said at the time. “We still work there and sneak lunch every now and then. We can talk about our day.”
Together, Giddish and Richards share one son, Oldie, whom they welcomed in June 2023 after tying the knot in 2021.

How Did Kelli Giddish and Beau Richards Meet?
Kelli Giddish and Beau Richards met while filming Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. Giddish recalled meeting Richards while working as his driver during the January 2026 episode Today.
“He was actually my driver at the time,” she said. “We became friends and then it turned into love. We still work there and we sneak out for lunch every now and then. We can talk one day,” he added. Giddish also joked that their lunch on set was “very romantic.”
Although she did not share the exact date she and Richards met, Giddish first appeared on SVU in 2011 during the show’s season 13 premiere.

Kelli Giddish and Beau Richards tied the knot during a ceremony in New Orleans in 2021. Three months after getting married, she shared a romantic photo of the two kissing on Instagram.
“I’m so happy beyond words that I met and married my love, my man, my love 11/7/21 #NOLA,” she said. “You are my light, and the best stepfather Ludo and Charlie could ask for.”

After giving birth, Giddish shared a photo of herself, Richards and Oldie sleeping together on Instagram.
“My husband and I welcomed Oldie Richards on June 20 and we love each other and are so grateful,” she said. “Oldie- you brought immeasurable JOY to me and your father and two brothers (and my grandparents, aunts and uncles!). You wake up smiling and the light you bring to each moment is truly amazing. ♥️♥️♥️.”
Giddish joked that her three boys were compared to WWE Superstars. “I counted the balls in my living room and I stopped at 22,” he laughed. “There are two basketball goals in my living room.”
“Unless someone starts crying, the background noise is perfect,” he added.
What Is Beau Richards Doing Now?
Beau Richards is still active as a member of the SVU the case. Giddish shared that she and she “actually sneak lunch every now and then” during the set, joking that their encounter is “very romantic.”
“It’s time away from our kids where we can talk about things – including remodeling the bathroom,” he said.
