Virgin River Season 7 Finale Explained: Who’s Dead? Who Divides?

Virgin River has made many surprises for fans throughout season 7, from babies and breakups to possible deaths.
The Netflix series returns on Thursday, March 12, with Mel (Alexandra Breckenridgeand Jack (Martin Henderson) considering their options when it comes to adopting his patient’s child. The fictional couple, who got married one season ago, faced some challenges but ended the season as parents of a baby boy.
Mel and Jack also get to spend time away Virgin River when they visited Mexico for their honeymoon. Elsewhere in town, Lizzie gave birth to her and Denny (Kai Bradbury) baby, but it needed some preparation.
Doctor (Tim Matheson) found himself jealous of Themba (Annette O’Toole) ex-husband while dealing with work problems. Brie (Zibby Allen) was still torn between Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworthand Mike (Marco Grazzini) before deciding to commit to Brady. Soon after the two met, Brady ended up in a tragic accident that left his life in the balance.

Mel and Jack

Season 7 featured many important moments for the now-married couple, including moving out of Mel’s old house to their new place and possibly becoming parents. Marley (Rachel Drance) briefly turned down her offer to raise her child, but eventually decided to make Mel and Jack the parents. Marley gave birth to a baby boy, but was diagnosed with health problems that would require several surgeries.
The last scene was Mel and Jack in the ambulance with their newborn baby.
Preacher and Kaia

While Kaia briefly considered leaving Virgin River, she eventually realized she wanted to live in a small town. Preacher, however, closed the season uncertain about his future after Jack refused to accept his ideas about raising the bar.
Charmaine

Courtesy of NetflixAfter being absent for most of the season, Brie was able to track down Charmaine, who had been kidnapped by her boss. Charmaine and her twins were rescued and reformed at the end of season 7.
Brady, Brie and Mike

Brie rejects Mike’s proposal, leading to her taking a break from both Brady and her. He immediately started working with Mike on the case and tried to stay friends with Brady. Neither situation worked for long, and Brie had to make a choice.
After his decision, Brady and Brie had a brief moment of happiness before he ended up in a serious motorcycle accident. Mike, on the other hand, moved on from Brie and may be dating someone new going into season 8.
Themba and the Doctor

Lizzie and Denny

The fictional couple welcomed their first child and faced personal struggles, including Lizzie’s postpartum anxiety.
