Virgin Galactic reopens sales of $750,000 space shuttle after two-year hiatus

The Big Money Show hosts discuss the growing space race between the United States and China.
Virgin Galactic is reopening the sale of its commercial airline flights on a limited basis – although ticket prices have increased from the company’s previous estimate.
The company made this announcement along with its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year 2025, which show that the work of its fleet of SpaceShips continues to allow commercial spaceships to continue.
“We completed the milestone in the first quarter of 2026, and with the assembly of our first SpaceShip nearly complete and set to begin Earth testing in April, we issued a limited number of Virgin Galactic Spaceflight Expeditions, each valued at $750,000,” Virgin Galactic Holdings CEO Michael Colglazier said in the release.
The $750,000 price tag for Virgin Galactic’s commercial jets is $100,000 from what it charged before it put spaceflight on hold nearly two years ago to focus on building its SpaceShips to handle the company’s space tourism business.

Colglazier said that with The company’s first SpaceShip almost completed and ready for testing, construction of its second spacecraft is underway and is expected to be ready for entry into service late this year or early next year.
“Production efforts are focused on supporting testing and production of our second SpaceShip, which we expect will enter service between Q4 2026 and early Q1 2027 in line with our planned ramp in spaceflight cadence,” he explained.

“We continue to manage our money in an orderly manner to support the way we have planned cash flow commercial airline jobs.”

A new company Delta class Spaceships have a higher capacity of six passengers than four, and are designed to handle the higher tempo of spaceflight operations than Virgin Galactic’s Unity prototype.
