What appeared to be seconds after the ‘Verzuz battle, Tyrese hit In-N-Out and took to social media, declaring himself the winner—captioning, “Ignore me, I’m just doing what winners do,” apparently taking inspiration from Michael B. Jordan’s post-Oscar win meal at In-N-Out.
In another post, he reflected on the week leading up to the tournament. He said the tests “please” and emphasized that nothing ever feels right until it happens live. Tyrese yelled at Tank, calling him “one of the pioneers of R&B soul,” and emphasized that the night wasn’t about competition—it was about giving fans a moment to relive their memories, from love to graduation and talent show wins.
“Music is not just for entertainment but it heals, it is life,” wrote Tyrese. “There is the pressure of knowing that people trust what we do… but there is purpose in that too. There is nothing as powerful as music.”
