I eat sports like water. If something big happens, you better believe I’m watching. It doesn’t matter if it’s early in the morning or late at night on a Saturday — I delete my schedule to follow it.
The problem with this practice is that it is expensive to watch everything I want to watch. I’ve come to terms with this harsh reality, but that doesn’t mean I’m not always looking for ways to watch for free. And no, I’m not talking about anything negative. I don’t want to keep scrolling through buffered streams that fill my screen with terrible ads. I want a free legal stream.
So imagine my joy when I came across a way to watch selected F1 races for free. I’ve followed F1 for as long as I can remember, and I can’t remember a season starting with so much uncertainty. Thanks to a huge set of rules changes, it feels like anyone’s title to win. I have been bitten by F1. I’ve been ready to get a evenly matched grid with unpredictable races, and I’m left with a handful of drivers who win every week. But I refuse to lose faith. This is the year where everything changes.
And it all starts at the Australian GP. Ferrari and Mercedes showed good pace in testing, but you never really know how things will turn out until the lights turn green.

The Australian GP is the first race of the 2026 F1 season. Here’s the full schedule from Melbourne’s Albert Park circuit:

I, like most people, am a paid member of Amazon Prime. That subscription comes with many benefits, including fast shipping, special Prime Day deals, and access to Prime Video. Honestly, I don’t watch a lot of Prime Video. I’m really into fast delivery. We buy a lot of “important” things and if they don’t arrive the next day, I don’t want to know.

But now that the new F1 season is starting, I’m suddenly very interested in Prime Video. That’s because you can now sign up for a free 7-day trial of Apple TV+ using the Main Video Channels. F1 is now exclusive to Apple TV in the US, so with access to this free trial, you can watch selected races for free this season. Subscriptions usually cost £9.99 a month after the trial ends, but you can cancel at any time. So there is no obligation to pay anything.
I pay for Amazon Prime, so you could make the argument that this isn’t really a free hack. But I always signed up for this service. And anyway, you can use the 30-day free trial period of Amazon Prime (if you just got it) to get access to Apple TV without spending anything. This is tricky, but I suspect millions of fans will be using this exact method this season.
