Tiger Woods Mugshot Released By Police After DUI Arrest; Golfer Gets Out of Jail

Tiger Woods was released from a brief stint in a Florida jail tonight after being arrested earlier in the day for driving under the influence following a car crash. In his second arrest by police in the past decade, a red-eyed Woods publicly displayed his gun shortly before he was released from the Martin County Jail at around 8:15 pm PT.
Trying to get out the back door of the jail near his home, Woods was chased away in a Cadillac by a car. Officials with the Martin County Sheriff’s Department would not confirm if Woods made bond or appeared in court after being held in jail for several hours. Reps for Woods did not respond Friday to Deadline’s request for comment on the arrest and his condition.
Sheriff John Budensiek told reporters today that the crash happened just before 2 p.m. ET when Woods’ car, which was traveling at a “high rate of speed,” passed a truck pulling a pressure washer on a two-lane road at 30 mph. Wood’s Land Rover is said to have swerved to avoid the trailer, however, it ended up cutting into the back of it. The Land Rover overturned and skidded to a stop with the driver’s door stuck on the floor.
Woods exited the passenger side, insisting he was unhurt. Sheriff Budensiek said Woods is “cooperating but not trying to incriminate himself.”
Woods scored a 0.00 on a breathalyzer test after showing signs of “impairment,” according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. In his second known car accident in , the golfer apparently told police he had multiple health problems and had multiple surgeries.
However, Woods was charged Friday with driving under the influence of property damage, which could result in a year in jail, fines or probation. Also, charged with failing a urine test after his Land Rover crashed today near his home on Jupiter Island, Woods will almost certainly have his license suspended for a year.
As it was, under Florida law, the golfer had to spend 8 hours in confinement. It appears that Woods was not among the many in the Martin County Jail.
Even worse, with a previous DUI from 2017 on his record, Woods could get jail time for this latest incident. That 2017 DUI was almost at the same location as today’s incident, where Woods was found to be under the influence of drugs at the time.
To clarify, Woods in 2017 was found to have a mixture of Xanex, Vicodin, Ambien, the strong painkiller Dilaudid, and THC in his system.
In February 2021, Woods, who had just undergone fifth back surgery and had multiple leg surgeries, suffered multiple leg injuries after an accident on a residential street in Palos Verdes, California. As was the case in 2009, Woods, who was hosting the Genesis Invitational at the Rivera County Club in Pacific Palisades that weekend, was not charged in the 2021 accident — which was deemed an accident so ridiculous.
Any judge, no matter how big of a golf fan or not, would have to consider a DUI from 9 years ago in any sentencing for what happened on Friday.

Donald Trump spoke briefly about his “good friend” and what happened Friday in the Woods.
“You have difficulties, .. I don’t want to talk about it- said Trump today on the tarmac next to Air Force One after giving a speech (Paramount’s David Ellison was there) in Miami and landing at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach.
The good friend, who is also dating Trump’s ex-daughter Vanessa, has seen his latest quest for golf fame and a return to the PGA Tour damaged in part by Trump this week.
Playing in the TGL final on March 4, with his Jupiter Links Golf Club losing to Los Angeles GC, Woods spoke about his hopes for the 2026 Masters. “I’ve been trying,” the 50-year-old golf star said after the final round of the TGL.
In a live phone interview with Fox News’ Fiveon March 26, Trump threw ice cold water on that appearance at Augusta National.
POTUS said Woods will not be participating in the April 9 Masters event. “He’s going to be there, but he’s not going to play in it,” Trump told hosts Thursday of the five-time Masters tournament.
As of tonight, Woods is still registered for the July 2-5 US Senior Open in Columbus, Ohio.
