Texas News Anchors Address Feud Rumors After Arguing Goes Viral On Air

Texas news anchors Carney Porter again Michael Bohling revealed where they stand after the spiritual news spread this week.
The two reporters — who work for Wichita Falls, Texas, news station KFDX3 — surprised some viewers when they openly argued about the weather forecast during their 10 p.m. newscast on Wednesday, February 25. Porter, a news anchor for KFDX3, introduced the segment when he bluntly said there wasn’t “any rain.”
“I just said a second ago we had rain in the forecast,” meteorologist Bohling interjected.
Porter clarified that he was referring to clear skies for the next “three or four days”, though Bohling again corrected him by pointing out: “Actually, the chance of rain comes before the event.”
“Stop trying to fix people and do your job,” Porter replied.
The meteorologist looked frustrated as he complained, “I just don’t know why you won’t listen to me!”
The segment got even more bittersweet when Porter said he wasn’t paying attention because Bohling was “boring.”
“Wow, wow, okay,” Bohling replied nervously.
One viewer was taken aback by the news coverage and shared the clip on Facebook, with the caption, “What just happened!?! That was a SPICY exchange on the 10 o’clock news!!”
The original clip has been viewed more than 100,000 times on Facebook since Wednesday and has also been shared on TikTok and other social media platforms.
A few hours after the segment aired, Bohling tried to make it clear that there was no malice behind his altercation with Porter.
“So this video happened last night… Carney and I are so close, we’re almost brothers in a way,” the meteorologist insisted on Facebook on Thursday, February 26. “We talk trash all day, and sometimes he goes on the air. Trust me, it’s all love.”
The Texas news anchor tried to see the funny side of the argument later that day when he posted a photo of himself and Porter scuffling with boxing gloves.

Video streaming is how we mess with each other. We often lose that we’re on tv at 10pm (we’re tired like you), and sometimes we go over the top lol.”
Bohling reiterated that he and Porter are “very close” emotionally and often lean on each other for support both inside and outside of the workplace.
“When Carney has a bad day at work, who do you talk to? Me. When I have a bad day at work, who do I talk to? Carney,” he revealed. “When Carney’s car was in the shop, who gave him a ride? Me. When my car got stuck behind the snow, who gave me a ride? Carney. Who bought him a glass with a quote on it, a quote we both use, for his birthday? Me.
Bohling continued, “Who bought me balloons for my 30th birthday? Carney. When Carney’s power went out because of a billing error, who did you ask for help? Me. When I had a panic attack (I always struggle with anxiety, it was really bad), who helped me calm down? Carney.”
“Carney and I love each other like a family. “Whenever you hear us arguing, we argue because we end up always turning our backs on each other.
On the same day, Porter offered his own explanation for the viral clip and supported Bohling’s description of their close friendship.
“I know it looks like Michael and I are struggling, but please understand that it’s always just fun,” he wrote on Facebook on Thursday. “We’re actually close friends and we like to joke around and sometimes those situations can sound more serious than they really are, especially to those who don’t know how our friendship works emotionally.”
“But that being said, I will NOT be mean or intentionally hurt Michael or anyone in our newsroom, whether it’s on or off,” he added. “We’re all really close and I’m lucky we’re all such good friends! To those who found this time uncomfortable, I sincerely apologize!”
Porter joined KFDX in 2021 as a multimedia reporter and was promoted to anchor in January 2022. Bohling has been the Texas news station’s senior meteorologist since December 2021.
