Shark BlastBoss Review: A versatile hand blaster and power blaster as powerful as it is beautiful

Content
In terms of physics, the Shark BlastBoss is the antithesis of a vacuum: It’s still a cordless cleaning tool, but it blows instead of suction. I insult I wanted to try it for more reasons than the fact that it comes in pink. At the start of BlastBoss in March 2026, I immediately thought of all the dust and debris I encounter on a regular basis that is not removed by the suction power of a robot or stick vacuum.
The Shark BlastBoss is marketed for a wide range of indoor and outdoor uses. Since I don’t have an outdoor space in my apartment, I also took a trip to my parents’ house to test its versatility in the garage and basement and on the patio. I’ve found a few ways to use BlastBoss over the past month, and there are many more. TL;DR? Use the table of contents to jump down to test tees for indoor, outdoor, and vehicle use.
What does Shark BlastBoss do?
The Shark BlastBoss is a cordless vacuum cleaner that uses high-velocity air to clean dirty areas where it doesn’t make sense to use a vacuum.

The reach of suction power has a more limited radius than air blowing in the opposite direction. And often, stubborn household dust or debris embedded in small cracks only responds to the positive pressure of a quick blow (rather than the negative pressure of a vacuum suction). I won’t pretend to understand the science behind it – all I know is that people my age were born knowing how to pump into an incompatible N64 cartridge, not try to clean it up.
The BlastBoss is simply a powerful model of dust blowing, capable of up to 190 MPH that can be controlled with attachments such as an extender wand, a broom, and a precision nozzle. Battery life depends on which of the three settings you use: It can last between five and seven minutes in boost mode, up to 10 minutes in outdoor mode, and about an hour in indoor mode.
‘Why is my robot vacuum sucking now?’ Well, when was the last time you cleaned it?
The BlastBoss comes in five colors: classic gray or white, and blue, green, or pink. (Cosmo and Wanda, you don’t slip.)
Using Shark BlastBoss indoors
Most of the advertising for the BlastBoss indicates that it is used outdoors or in the car, so at first I wasn’t sure how much I would get out of it inside my house. My first order of business was to blow the dust and cat hair off my MacBook keyboard, which was borderline ASMR to behold. Then it hit me: This thing is powerful dust.
I’ve been using the BlastBoss to sweep up any objects that attract that sticky layer of dust: knick-knacks on the TV stand, picture frames, fake plant leaves, the top of the record player, high shelves that I can’t see but can see. know they are covered in gray. I try to wipe most of these with a real cloth from time to time, but the BlastBoss is a great way to get a job done once a week instead of a job once or twice a year.
The Dreme FP10 air purifier cleans the fur in its filter. Most importantly, it matches the aesthetic of my living room.
Dusting off the bar shelves on my kitchen island was a breeze – the BlastBoss’ indoor surface is soft enough to blow on fragile items without dropping them. The Dyson that holds my hand feels too big and uncomfortable to fit between each glass, and it can’t absorb very fine debris smaller than a cat’s hair.

These shelves get disgustingly dusty, and cat toys always get lost underneath.

I’ve also found that the BlastBoss is great for getting small things out from under furniture, as long as there’s room for it to blast on the other side. One of my cats keeps losing things under the bottom shelf of that kitchen island, so I pointed the BlastBoss down there to see what was going on. A handful of bobby pins, a glitter ball, and her favorite spider ring “toy” shot out the other side, along with a ton of crumbs and hair weeds.
As a robot vacuum reviewer, I’m always on the ground to test the performance of vacuum cleaners. That also means I’m constantly dealing with all the food particles that have fallen under the fridge and oven. BlastBoss managed to blast some of them in the center. And that fits perfectly with the whole ethos of my work: Make a mess and let the robot vacuum deal with it.
Using Shark BlastBoss externally
The BlastBoss is a fast basic tool for anyone with a porch, deck or patio, or just a garage.
You’ll get about 26 inches of reach with both extended attachments clicked, and it’s not heavy enough to be comfortable lifting with one hand. My mother was very happy for me to blow up moss and the remains of an old bird’s nest on the side rails of her house.
This is much better than getting spider webs stuck to the broom bristles.

Outdoor mode is most effective on dirty cushions, even on cracks.

It’s also much easier to blow leaves off patio furniture cushions than to try to brush them off (or vacuum them up with a stick vacuum, if you want to remove them outside).
When the broom attachment is clicked, in a it’s bad a day to be a pile of leaves in the yard or a layer of pine needles on the porch. I was able to clear a 15+ foot long concrete yard of lawnmower clippings and seed debris from the bird feeder in a minute or two – much faster (and less exercise) than doing it all with a manual broom.

I think you’ll get your money’s worth from BlastBoss in just one fall season. I mean, it’s a leaf blower – but a nice, compact one that won’t feel like it should be kept outside. Back at my parents’ house, I can already imagine how much easier it would be to keep the BlastBoss in the closet near the driveway and patio door (rather than on the last shelf in the garage).
Using the Shark BlastBoss in a car
Regardless of where you are on the scale of “religious” to “never” for sweeping your car, BlastBoss is fantastic to have around for a quick seat and trunk refresh.
I can hit the inside of my car with my portable Dyson all I want, but there are always little spots that won’t budge. An air jet from BlastBoss takes care of them quickly. To get spots on the cracks of the seat cushion, I just open the nearest door and blow it to the side. With spots stuck to the bottoms of the rubber mat on my trunk, I get into my back seat and blast them from behind. Parents on TikTok and YouTube are doing the same thing with snack spills on car seats.
Even if I don’t eat in the car, the crumbs seem to spawn under here.

Boost mode found sticky bits that wouldn’t come off when I moved the mat upside down.

I also use the BlastBoss to vacuum out dirt, rocks, and under the two front seats, where my handheld vacuum won’t go. I still have to clean up that mess, but the BlastBoss at least gets it to where the vacuum can reach.
One of my first thoughts was that BlastBoss is going to rock by getting the pesky-ass sand out of the car. My second thought was that you could just blow off your legs and shoes before anyone got in the car. If you’re a beachgoer or other outdoorsy person, you can just keep the BlastBoss in the car and grab it whenever you need it – it doesn’t just die sitting there, like most cordless vacuums do. Mine only needed to be charged twice in the month I got it, and there was a day or two when I used it more than usual for testing purposes.
The black Shark UV Reveal lamp found the spots some robots missed, but I still have power with their mop.
The internet has filled me with many hacks that I would never have thought of on my own. Obviously, you can use the BlastBoss to blast your car after washing it to prevent streaks and water spots, or use a precision nozzle to blast an inflatable mattress.
Is Shark BlastBoss worth it?
The Shark BlastBoss has proven to be very useful in small spaces and large homes, as well as outdoor spaces and cars. If you know you have to vacuum or sweep your car more often than you should, I think the BlastBoss makes the job quick and easy enough that you’ll be motivated to do it.
Not that there are a lot of other good and generic fireworks that can compare, but the $149.99 price tag seems reasonable for a multi-use tool. In addition, the joint handle and removable attachments must be out of the way of storage.
