The new SM11 grind will dial in your short game

When you talk to the whiz Bob Vokey and his first lieutenant, Aaron Dill, the conversation eventually goes beyond the upper rooms and ends and settles on one thing: how the soles of the club go on the ground. For a better player, that connection can mean the difference between a tap-in par and a double-bogey.
Now, Titleist leans into that nuance by bringing six WedgeWorks grinds – L, A, K, A+, V* and 62M – to the SM11 family.
These are not just “options”; they are specific solutions to the environmental problems found on the PGA Tour. Here is a review of each:

Precision Tools: IL and A Grinds
L Grind (active bounce: 4°)
The subject
IL is the scale of the Vokey system. It features a narrow sole designed for the player who is not afraid to see the leading edge along the hard road. It offers a touch more “safety” than the T Grind by keeping the CG low and less bounce to prevent the club from getting behind the ball with a hard lie.
• Tour Fit: This is for a “shallow” putter that creates a small divot. It is the preferred tool of Ludvig Åberg and Billy Horschel, who need that level of precision when the green is lightning fast.
Grind (effective bounce: 4°)
;)
The subject
IA Grind is a “pure” version of L. By removing the grinding lines (ribbon) from one, Vokey created a wedge that “doesn’t drag” through the turf. It was born out of Geoff Ogilvy’s need for a wedge that could handle the concrete “bounce-back” turf of Australia’s Sandbelt.
• Tour Fit: Wyndham Clark relied on A Grind’s ability to slide under the ball without friction to win his US Open title.
Titleist Vokey SM11 Raw Custom Wedge
Grinding For Every Player For every player, there is a set of grindings suitable for clean communication. The SM11 offers the best combination of lofts, bounces, and grinds to promote solid contact (between grooves 2-5), predictable performance, and the confidence to take on whatever the shot calls for. Consistent CG Area for Comparison At a given height, the SM11 incorporates the same CG area across all grinds, resulting in a controlled, consistent launch. No matter which one design fits your swing or course conditions, your launch window is locked—leaving you free to choose the lofts and grinds that work for you. A Smarter Way to Spin The new Vokey Spin system combines an angled face texture, precise groove shape, and deep spin milled grooves to deliver the right amount of spin on any lie, in every situation.

Mid-Bounce Specialists: A+ and K*
;)
The subject
A+ Grind (effective bounce: 8°)
The A+ is essentially a “smooth” M Grind. On tour, players like Adam Scott have found the M Grind to be “tight” or bend down. By taking that M shape and removing the ribbon (separate grinding lines), you get one that moves faster with more water on the turf. It sits lower than the standard M, providing mid-bounce stability without feeling “weird”.
• Tour Fit: This is the ultimate “tweener” wedge for the player who needs a jump to play a bunker but wants a low profile for hitting shots on tight fairways.
K* Grind (active bounce: 6°)
It is important to distinguish this from normal K. Although the full K is a “cheat code” out of the sand, it can be difficult to use from a firm fairway. IK* (K-Star) retains the wide sole for bunker performance but adds a raised front wear on the leading edge. This allows the club to sit low at address, while the heel, toe, and trailing edge relief allows you to open the face without the leading edge jumping up.
• Tour Fit: Justin Thomas and Cameron Young carry the K* because it offers maximum forgiveness without sacrificing the ability to hit high, soft flops from short grass.
Solution “Digger”: V
IV Grind (active bounce: 10°)
;)
The subject
IV Grind is a high jump specialist for the high-roller or those who play in soft and green conditions. It features a higher initial bounce on square shots to prevent the leading edge from “digging in,” but strong relief in the heel and toe means you can still control the face for open side shots.
• Tour Fit: World No. 1 freshman Jackson Koivun relies on 60V for his “insurance” against big misses in various collegiate turf conditions.
62M Grind (effective bounce: 8°)
;)
The subject
The 62M is a niche but necessary tool. Bob Vokey’s favorite M Grind shape, but the loft is rolled to 62 degrees. Designed for “emergency” situations when you don’t have a green to work with and need the ball to go vertical and stop quickly.
Available Loft and Hand Options
All WedgeWorks offerings are finished in Raw, which will rust over time – a favorite for players looking to reduce glare and potentially increase swing.
