The 10 best TV episodes of all time, ranked by IMDb: Game of Thrones and more

Thanks to the Internet Movie Database, fans have been able to list their favorite TV episodes for years.
Surprisingly, all of the top 10 episodes on IMDb were released in the 21st century, and two shows account for six of the 10 slots.
To narrow things down, Watch Us has released anime and animated shows in our roundup of the 10 best TV episodes as ranked by IMDb.
All of the episodes listed below are readily available to stream, and many of them have nearly perfect IMDb scores.
10. ‘Chernobyl’ (2019)
Season 1, episode 5: “Vichnaya Pamyat”

HBO’s Chernobyl it was the drama of the nuclear disaster and its aftermath in 1986, and the aftermath. In the last episode, Valery Legasov (Jared Harris) refuses to go along with the cover of the Soviet Union and testifies that he was self-deluded in his previous story. He then explains how the Soviet mismanagement of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant led to the fatal accident that has forever been associated with it.

Series finales are always hard to fix, though Six Feet Under satisfied fans by using the final episode to reveal the fate of the Fisher family. As Claire Fisher (Lauren Ambrose) begins his new journey, flash forwards reveal the death of Ruth Fisher (Frances Conroy), David Fisher (Michael C. Hall), Keith Charles (Matthew St. Patrick), Brenda Chenowith (Rachel Griffiths), Federico Diaz (Freddy Rodriguez) and Claire herself. Many of them live long, happy lives, but they all have the same end – death. The ending emphasized what the series was all about – that since we all will eventually meet the same fate, we might as well enjoy life while we can.

8. ‘Game of Thrones’ (2011 – 2019)
Season 6, episode 10: “The Winds of Winter”

The sixth season finale of Game of Thrones didn’t have a big fight, but Cersei (This is Headey) had him remove all of his enemies from King’s Landing at once by destroying the Great Sept of Baelor and everyone within.
That leaves Cersei as queen of the seven kingdoms, and all it cost her was the life of her last remaining child. Meanwhile, Jon Snow’s true parentage (Kit Harington) was revealed along with Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) eventually sailed to Westeros to claim the kingdoms for himself.

7. ‘Fence Saul Better’ (2015 – 2022)
Season 6, Episode 7: “Plan and Do”

For the first part of the Better Call Saul season 6, Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) and Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) devised an elaborate scheme to trap their former boss, Howard Hamlin (Patrick Fabian).
In “Plan and Execution,” the trap and con are successful and ruin Howard’s reputation. His final confrontation with the couple raises the episode to another level, before the cliffhanger ending ups the ante.

Giancarlo Esposito He revived his career as Gus Fring on Dangerous Breaking Badand was a major threat to Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul).
All of Walt’s previous plans to get Gus out failed, but his masterstroke came in “Face Off” when he found someone who hated Gus more than he did. The final moments of Gus’ life became one of the most famous scenes in the series and produced a visual that aligns with the title of the episode. Look, sure.

Mr. Robot it was a thriller that was often preoccupied with technology and social unrest. “407 Proxy Authentication Required” set things back a bit during a forced therapy session between Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) and her therapist, Krista Gordon (Gloria Ruben).
Fernando Vera (Elliot Villar) edited it because he wanted to know more about the dissociative identity disorder of Mr. Robot and Elliot. He got the success he was looking for in agreeing with Elliot, but maybe not in the way he intended.

Students of George RR Martin‘s A Song of Ice and Fire novelists know all about the “Red Wedding” in advance. It took the better part of three seasons Game of Thrones to experience those events in “The Rains of Castamere,” but the results were still very sad.
In this fantasy world, it was unthinkable for guests to be attacked while under the host’s treatment, especially at a wedding. Robb Stark (Richard Madden), his bride, Talisa (The real Chaplin) and his mother, Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley), found out the hard way that the rules have changed. This episode marked a turning point in the series as no one, not even fan favorites like the Starks, could be killed off.

The last episode of Breaking Bad made Walter White’s story on the edge, but without giving him emotional closure with his wife, Skyler (Anna Gunn). Walt also returned home because he wanted revenge on his enemies, and he got it in a spectacular way. The show’s story came full circle, and this is widely considered one of the greatest series finales.

This became a tradition Game of Thrones having the biggest fights in the final episodes of its later seasons. “Battle of the Bastards” elevated that tradition into something truly cinematic as Jon Snow and the forces loyal to House Stark faced off against Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) and his allies on the battlefield. Few fantasy films have matched the scale of the series achieved here, and medieval warfare is depicted with incredible brutality.

This is the downfall of Walter White’s house. Breaking Bad he didn’t wait until the last episode to reveal Walt’s double life as a drug lord. His wife, Skyler, already knew the truth. But after a shootout in the desert, Walt’s son, Flynn (RJ Mitte), learned about his father’s dark side. The result of Walt’s family involvement brought the series to its final turning point, and this is one of the rare TV episodes to receive a perfect 10 points on IMDb.
