‘Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ Has Credit Scenes. Here’s What They Suggest

The Super Mario Galaxy movie is out, and it’s full of references that Nintendo fans will immediately recognize, pulling from the Mario series and other Nintendo franchises. The film features familiar favorites Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser and, for the first time, Yoshi, in a new adventure that takes them out of the galaxy.

Following the success of 2023 Super Mario Bros. Moviefamously teased Yoshi in the post-credits scene, some moviegoers might wonder if Nintendo and Illumination have put the same sting in this one. It happens, but what do the post-credits scenes mean for the Mario movie franchise?

Does the Super Mario Galaxy Movie have a post-credits scene?

There are two credits scenes in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, one for the mid credits and one for the post credits. And one of the clips reinforces the story, while the other sets up something new.

In the middle credits scene, we see the big cameo of the movie, Fox McCloud from Star Fox, who makes another appearance. He was once seen walking out of a maximum security prison with a large coin. She says the princess has paid for her services and wishes one of the Toads dressed as bodyguards good luck while saying, “That’s one complicated family.” He then gets into his Arwing and flies into space.

We then see inside the prison as Bowser, in his Dry Bowser skeleton form, is lying in the desert, talking to Bowser Jr., who is digging a hole in the ground. And here comes Lumalee, the blue Luma who appeared briefly in the Super Mario Bros. movie. while Luigi was in Bowser’s lair.

Lumalee continues his diatribe from the first film, stating how death is inevitable. His glee at dying leaves the Bowsers in fear as they huddle together and scream in fear.

In the post-credits scene at the end of the credits, the monkey thief Ukiki is there again. As he tries to escape with some stolen goods, he is punched by a gloved hand. That hand belongs to Princess Daisy, the damsel in distress from Super Mario Land for the Game Boy. He smiles a little and blinks, and that’s it for the second credit scene.

Will there be a Star Fox movie?

While Nintendo has yet to confirm that a Star Fox movie is in the works, it seems possible, as there has never been any indication that Fox is part of the Mario universe. His cameo can be a staged event and make the audience explode with joy, but it can also be emotional.

Star Fox will celebrate its 35th anniversary in 2028, which sounds like the perfect time for Nintendo to revive the series, which has been dormant for nearly a decade. The last official Star Fox game was Star Fox Zero for Wii U, released in 2016. In 2017, Nintendo released a canceled SNES game, Star Fox 2for Nintendo Switch.

What does Daisy’s appearance mean?

Daisy’s cameo would seem to indicate that the next Mario Bros movie could be Super Mario Land, but that is doubtful.

There isn’t much of a story in Super Mario Land. In that play, Daisy is the princess of Sarasaland, and she is kidnapped by an alien named Tatanga. There isn’t much to the game other than Mario saving another princess, and it hasn’t been revisited by Nintendo since.

Instead, Daisy has become a regular in Mario Bros. They can be found in various Mario sports games, Mario Kart games and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Instead of having a movie dedicated to saving Daisy, like Super Mario Galaxy was going to save Rosalina, it’s possible that she joins the cast in the next adventure.
