Speed Skater Francesca Lollobrigida Celebrates Olympic Victory With Son

Italian speed skater Francesca Lollobrigida shared his Olympic victory with his two-year-old son, Tommaso.
After winning a gold medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics on Saturday, February 7, Lollobrigida, 35, spoke to members of the media while nursing her baby in front of the cameras.
During a post-win interview, shared on X on Sunday, February 8, Tommaso hugged Lollobrigida and repeated “Mama” while trying to stop her from speaking into the microphone.
In one sweet moment, the child tried to cover Lollobrigida’s mouth as she tried to avoid his grip, causing Tommaso to raise a finger to his mouth to indicate that he wanted silence from her. As the athlete continued to speak, the boy turned his eyes to his mother’s head and took it away from her.
The video captured some of Tommaso’s toddler behavior, including him moving the microphone away from his mother’s face and playing with his gold medal.
A New York Times interview with Lollobrigida, published on Sunday, February 8, saw Lollobrigida reflect on her struggles with parenthood and work. “The message I want to show is that I did not choose between family and being a mother [and being a speed skater],” he told the outlet.
The article also pointed out that Lollobrigida’s victory in the women’s 3000 meters race coincided with her birthday. “I think it’s a great day … it’s amazing, the dream of my dreams,” he told the outlet.
The interview also focused on the challenges of achieving her Olympic dreams. “This (medal) belongs to me, the people who believe in me, and the people who say, ‘Maybe he can’t, you know?’ They gave me the strength to prove myself,” he said to the media.
Lollobrigida also spoke about what she hopes for Tommaso, who was born in May 2023, telling the media that she “hopes that one day he can watch Saturday’s race and understand what he accomplished.”
