Sarah Shahi Finally Reveals What Led to Adam’s Demos Split After Sex/Life

Sarah Shahi broke his silence with that which led him to break up with her in a shocking way Adam Demos.

Tuesday, February 10, episode of Kristin CavallariOn the “Masithembeke” podcast, Shahi, 46, revealed that it’s been a year since she broke up with Demos, 40. She also broke down the early days of their relationship – including the lessons she learned this time.

The former couple met early on the set of Sex/Life in August 2020. At the time, Shahi was separated from her then-husband Steve Howeymarried to him for 11 years. Shahi and Howey, 48, who share three children together, finally finalized their divorce in 2021.

Shahi recently broke his silence Us Weekly about their breakup, sharing in January, “There was a part of the relationship that people felt was personal, which was very sweet and heartwarming.”

He continued: “When things end, you feel like you’re experiencing it twice. You’re experiencing it emotionally on a personal level, and then you’re experiencing it again on a much larger scale.”

Sarah Shahi Reveals When She And Adam Demos Ended Their Love

During the episode, Sarah Shahi confirmed that she and Adam Demos “broke up last year,” adding, “Talking about this feels good. But I think he’s a wonderful person and our ending was without tables or anger.”

Shahi called the break-up “just two people whose future has stopped having a rhythm” after a few years together. “It was that simple,” he added.

How Sarah Shahi and Adam Demos First Met

Sarah Shahi recalled meeting Adam Demos on the set of Sex/Life while he thought she was a production assistant based on the way she was dressed. Despite not being interested in him at first, Shahi reveals that time has changed.

“I just remember hearing him talk about his relationship with his mother. I just heard a little bit about him and who he is,” he said. “I found that really interesting, so when I sat next to my makeup artist, I was like, ‘Let’s do our makeup there.’ Then I said, ‘What kind of music do you like to listen too? And what kind of drinks do you like?’ It started there.”

After taking the first step, Sarah Shahi said she “learns not to.”

“I was very into my masculinity for a long time and I always make the first move. I am always the initiator of things. In this last year of chasing shit and not going anywhere, I decided to take a different role,” he explained. “I’ve decided that I want to be in a more accepting mood. I want to be in my stable femininity for this next chapter.”

Shahi concluded: “It was good, it was a good change for me. But I took the first step. We had a drink. We had a drink again after we sat face to face and I just remember I kept getting closer and closer and closer.”

The actress said she was the one who “first fell in love with” Demos, adding, “I put my tongue so far down his throat… There aren’t many times when you fall in love in real life, with someone you’re meant to fall in love with on screen. The fact that we’ve had five amazing years together – and he’s a great person that I can learn from one season to another. The love is there.

Sarah Shahi Reveals What Caused Adam Demos’ Split

“Without broadcasting any kind of material, I think that if you have children it’s difficult to build a life with children unless someone really wants that,” Sarah Shahi joked. “This is not a comment about him but it is about the ways in which I present myself as a parent, I present myself as a parent in a direct way. [As a child] we could go into my mother’s room at any time and into the bathroom at any time. I think that can be a challenge for someone who may not be used to having children.”

He added: “It’s good that love is easy, but things in life shouldn’t be that difficult.”

Looking ahead, Shahi discussed how her dating style changed.

“I want my next relationship to be about me. I don’t want a stepparent. I just want a boyfriend,” he said. “Someone who can just take me out and I can be on the beach and just sweat and have sex all the time. I just want someone to help me, and if that turns into something else that’s great.”
