This F1 season is going to be a lot of fun. Every F1 season has plenty of exciting news to follow, but due to a major set of regulatory changes, there is a lot of uncertainty at the moment. And uncertainty can lead to exciting races.
Lando Norris scored a stunning title win on the final day of last season. Now the pressure is on McLaren to defend that title from a long line of talented drivers and passionate teams. Expect the likes of George Russell, Kimi Antonelli, Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton, and Max Verstappen to challenge for race wins this season. Ferrari and Mercedes look like the teams to beat after testing, but we won’t know for sure until the actual race starts.

What is F1?
Formula One (F1) is the highest level of international racing for open single-seater formula cars. The season consists of a series of races (Grands Prix) that take place in many countries and continents on purpose-built circuits or on closed public roads.
Lando Norris is the defending champion. McLaren won the Constructors Championship in 2025.
When is F1 in 2026?
The 2026 F1 season is the 77th edition of the championship. This year’s competition includes 24 Grands Prix events held around the world between March and December:

How to watch F1 for free
In the US, F1 is now only available on Apple TV. An Apple TV subscription costs $12.99 a month or $99 a year, but it’s possible to get access to Apple TV without spending anything.

Apple TV comes with a free 7-day trial for new subscribers. This is a tricky trick, but you can subscribe to watch the next F1 race and cancel your subscription before you use anything. This is obviously not a long-term fix, but it does give you the opportunity to live stream selected F1 race weekends for free.
Apple TV Prime Video Channel
Already an Amazon Prime member? You are in luck. You can sign up for a free 7-day trial of Apple TV+ with the main video channels. This allows you to watch selected F1 races live through the Prime Video app. Subscriptions usually cost £9.99 a month after the trial ends, but you can cancel at any time. That means you can watch selected races without using anything.
The Apple One
