Bravo pauses ‘Real Housewives of Miami’ after ratings decline

Bravo has put “Real Housewives of Miami” on hiatus “for now and the foreseeable future,” a source confirmed to Page Six.

An insider also tells us that the women of the show (stars Alexia Nepola, Lisa Hochstein, Julia Lemigova, Guerdy Abraira, Larsa Pippen, Stephanie Shojaee, and friends Kiki Barth, Adriana de Moura, and Marysol Patton) were given heads before the news was delivered.

While it’s not the first time the series has been shut down, the network’s decision comes amid declining ratings for the show.

The reality series — which concluded its Season 7 installment with a three-part reunion in October — has long been among the least-watched of Bravo’s “Real Housewives” franchises.

Many Bravoholics speculated that there might be a problem with the cast after reports that filming for Season 8 was expected to begin earlier this year, but it has not yet started.

“There is talk among those in the know that ‘RHOM’ is going to be canceled. There was a problem with the casting,” another source told Reality Blurb about the situation on Wednesday.

An insider told the newspaper that the issue was caused in part by star Alexia Nepola and her ex-husband Todd’s $10 million defamation lawsuit over the show, which he filed in October.

“Some of the issues are related to Alexia because of Todd’s case (she filed) and that Todd will not be on the show,” they shared.

“Without Todd, his story would have died, and that would have impacted the entire franchise.”

Todd filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit with prejudice in December.

As for how long the series will run, an insider shared that the hiatus “will be a very long hiatus, which many interpret as the show being canceled.”

Multiple sources told Page Six earlier this month that the production was looking to reprise and possibly give Abraira and Lemigova the boot.

Another source told us that Shojaee, who just entered the school, was also not happy to return for his second season.

“RHOM” was previously put on ice by the network in 2013 following its third season.

Fans were shocked to learn that the then-beloved show would make a dramatic return as the Peacock Original in 2021 with a mix of new faces and OG cast members including Larsa Pippen, Alexia Echevarria, Lisa Hochstein, Adriana de Moura and Marysol Patton.

Seasons 6 and 7 both aired on Bravo. But the Miami iteration couldn’t outdo its fellow “Real Housewives” contestant.
