Pima County Sheriff On Nancy Guthrie’s Disappearance, How Family Is Coping

“As you can imagine, this is difficult for everyone,” Nanos said Us on Monday, February 2, when asked how the family is doing. “They depend on each other. They are very cooperative with us and everything we do. They are involved and committed to each other. It is difficult, no doubt.”

Nanos noted that Savannah’s sister, Annie Guthriehe was the last to see his mother. (Nancy shares daughters Savannah, 54, and Annie with a son Cameron and late husband Charleswho died at age 49 of a heart attack.)

When asked if Annie raised any red flags about her mother’s behavior, Nanos replied, “No, we don’t have anything like that, no.”

Nanos went on to comment that “you never want to lose hope” during the investigation.

“We don’t want anyone to lose hope. So that’s always there, and that’s a good thing. But in the same way, as there is hope, there are things that point to us that say, ‘This lady is in danger,'” he said. “Even if he left that home and still lives with us, we will work 24 hours. We have talked to his medical experts, but we know his characteristics, and we know the medicines he needs and does not use without his medicines … it can kill. And after 24 hours … [of] the theme here.”

On Sunday, February 1, news broke that Nancy was reported missing by a family member who called 911. Nanos shared in a press conference on Monday that a friend of Nancy’s church noticed that she was not at the service and called one of her children.

The friend then went to Nancy’s house and “investigated and saw, ‘We need help,’ and they called 911.”

While Savannah was not on Monday’s broadcast of Today show, Sheinelle Jones appear nearby Craig Melvin at one o’clock to convey a statement from his family.

“We want to understand a deeply personal story for us,” said Melvin, 46. “Nancy Guthrie, Savannah’s beloved mother, has been reported missing in Arizona.”

A statement from Savannah noted, “On behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and messages of support. Right now, we are focused on the safe return of our beloved mother. We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900.”

Jenna Bush Hageron the other hand, he became emotional during the fourth hour of the show. Bush Hager, 44, went on to share that Nancy is “taking daily medication” that she needs “to survive” and may be “off her meds” for now.

“We are thinking of our dear, beloved Savannah and her entire family right now,” Bush Hager said. “Our prayers obviously go out to Savannah.”

At the first press conference on Monday, Nanos shared that there are “concerns” about what was found at Nancy’s home. When asked if foul play was suspected, Nano noted that he “wasn’t giving up.”

“We’ve thrown everything we can,” Nanos said, noting that search and rescue and crime teams have been called in to help along with drones, dogs and a helicopter.

In another press conference, authorities said they could tell Nancy “she didn’t go alone” and that they “don’t see this as a search operation” and a crime scene. “He could not walk 50 meters by himself,” they added.

Nanos went on to comment that he does not think there is an active threat to the community at this time.

“We will campaign in that area, maybe there is a striker [that’s] we can be seen all around,” he said, “there is a lot of work to be done. We have no indications that the public is at risk.”
