The Miss Grand Thailand contestant made a memorable mistake while on stage.

During the competition on March 25 in Bangkok, 18-year-old Kamolwan Chanago began to speak out while introducing himself to the judges and the family.

As he gave his introduction, Chanago’s speech was slurred as his false teeth fell out and interfered with his pronunciation.

Chanago didn’t let the tragedy get in her way, as she turned away from the audience to adjust her veneers before quickly turning around and giving the camera her best model face.

She then continued down the runway in her nude dress and hot pink shawl, as the crowd cheered her on.

“When he was presented on the stage, Kamolwan Chanago had a small and unexpected incident where his teeth came out,” said a spokesperson for Miss Grand International to People magazine.

They went on to say: “He handled the situation with tact and composure, the event went smoothly without any disruption. We are proud of his confidence and presence on stage throughout the competition.”

According to the Associated Press, an observer at the event said she “handled this better than most of us handle a bad hair day,” before asking if this might be “the biggest pageant moment ever.”

A contestant’s appearance on stage is an important factor in winning over the judges, and although the latest Miss America winner, Cassie Donegan, was able to win over the judges, viewers at home took to social media to criticize each other harshly, saying her make-up looked heavy and harsh.

“The truth is, when something this big happens, there’s going to be a lot of opinions,” Donegan told Fox News Digital in September 2025 about the criticism.

“Everyone has the right to their opinion, especially in a public forum like the internet,” he continued. “Yes, there is that criticism out there, and that’s their truth. They’re allowed to have that opinion, and I respect that completely. But I’m surrounded by a lot of love and a lot of support and a lot of people who hold me … I just don’t allow it. [their negativity] to overshadow the wonderful thing that is happening.”

Donegan added that while it’s “hard not to pick up my phone” and see what people are saying, she has learned that other people’s opinion of her may be “valid because that’s their truth, but it doesn’t mean my opinion is mine.”

As Miss America, Donegan explained, rather than focusing on bad behavior, she hopes to be a role model for young girls, saying she wants them to know that “she’s not much different than who you are right now, and you can do whatever you want to do.”

“I want them to believe in themselves because if they don’t, no one else will,” said the winner. “Strength really comes from within. And if there’s even a small part of me that brings that spark out of them, I’ve done my part. That’s going to be something I’ll be grateful to be a part of.”
