So she’s like, ‘I look like a thug to you when you’re pregnant — when that’s not how I treated you all the time. Yeah, how I was defending myself.’
Taylor and Dakota pull the plug – to get back together quickly – on multiple occasions. Dakota, on the other hand, remembered that she was worried about whether they would end up starting their relationship.
“I was so afraid of how much I loved Taylor and how much I was afraid of her and knowing that I didn’t really know what she wanted, or if this could be a thing,” she said on “The Viall Files” podcast in June 2025. “I didn’t really want to give her 100 percent of myself because I was afraid of that. I didn’t want that, I wanted that hurt. I’m in.”

Taylor Frankie Paul began dating Dakota Mortensen shortly after her mild scandal and subsequent divorce from Tate Paul. In July 2022, Taylor mentioned someone new in her life but it wasn’t until two months later that she officially revealed Dakota on social media.
After nearly a year of dating, Taylor was arrested in February 2023 for domestic violence. He was eventually charged with aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence involving a child, aggravated battery with injury to a child and criminal mischief after an incident. Taylor pleaded guilty six months later to aggravated assault, and the other four charges were dismissed with prejudice. He reached an agreement to plead with her the following month.
Dakota, for her part, defended Taylor despite their rocky relationship.

Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen didn’t seem to have left it after his arrest but they didn’t confirm that they were still dating until June 2023. Then they filmed season 1 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives – and welcomed a son Ever – before their bad romance was put into the public eye.
In September 2024, Secret Lives of Mormon Wives premiered on Hulu. Taylor and Dakota’s rocky relationship was the focus of the first season, with cheating allegations, an argument over Taylor attending a Chippendales show in Las Vegas and more taking center stage.
During the interview for Us WeeklyTaylor’s story, Taylor revealed that she and Dakota didn’t see eye to eye on screen.
“It’s really hard for me to watch it [the ups and downs with me and Dakota] because all such feelings are true. Nothing is built or made or anything. Everything is true,” he commented in October 2024. “So it’s hard for me to look at that after that. That is probably one of the hardest times.”
Taylor said she is not sure about the status of her relationship with Dakota.
“I can say that we are fixing things and in fact I don’t know where we will go from here. We are not fully together, but we are not fully done yet. I don’t know where the future has put me and him,” he admitted. “It’s just a lot. So I can deal with it and I’m trying to deal with it. But I don’t want to watch the show.”

Prior to filming Bachelor Mansion, Taylor was asked on the September 2025 episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast when she last met Dakota, to which she replied, “It’s over and we’ll see how that plays out. I don’t really remember to be honest.”
Taylor admitted that the former couple may have met at Stagecoach in April 2025 and “something after that,” adding, “It was very confusing to be honest.”

Details about when the two got back together – or if they broke up again – are unclear.
