New Clues Emerge About Savannah Guthrie’s Mother Nancy’s Kidnapper

Investigators may be looking for new leads from Nancy Guthriesecurity footage as the search for him continues.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told NBC News on Tuesday, February 17, that it appears the suspect who took the photo on Guthrie’s porch appears to be wearing a ring under black gloves.

“I’m looking at the same picture you’re looking at and I get it – I see it,” Nanos said in an interview. “I’ll give that to my team. They’ll look at that. They’ll analyze it and we’ll see, maybe, maybe.”

He also confirmed that the police want to match the gun the suspect allegedly had in his belt.

“We know he had a gun. We know he had a gun with different features,” Nanos continued. “At the moment we don’t know who it is, but it is being worked on.” So, naturally, we go to our gun shops everywhere and say: ‘Have you seen this guy? Can you help us identify this weapon?

News came out on February 1 that Today the host Savannah GuthrieNancy’s mother, is missing from her home in Arizona. Savannah has resigned from her NBC job to be with her family during the ongoing investigation.

“That backpack, we can now identify as a backpack that’s only sold in one place. That’s Walmart,” he told NBC News. “So we’re working with our Walmart managers across the region to try to figure out how many sales there were for that bag in the last 20, 30, 60 days.”

Nanos added, “And can we do something about that? We can break it — maybe we’ll get a credit card or a debit card. Maybe we’ll get a video of this guy coming in.”

Nanos confirmed in a separate interview with NBC – aired on Today show on Wednesday, February 18 – that Nancy’s kidnapping was a completely targeted attack.

“I think this was a target for whatever reason, and it made it difficult, but I have strong investigators with me,” Nanos said.

There are more than 400 investigators working on the search for Nancy.

“As long as we have the ability to chase the lead, it’s not cold,” said Nanos on Tuesday. “We will not give up, we will find Nancy, we will find out who did this.
