North Korean leader Kim Jong Un watched a live test launch of multiple rocket launchers near his teenage daughter on Saturday, as the regime escalated weapons protests amid joint US-South Korean exercises, state media reported.
The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said Kim was in charge of a strike that included the launch of a dozen 600mm Ultra-precision multiple rocket launchers on North Korea’s east coast, according to the Associated Press.
The South Korean military said it had found about 10 missiles that had been launched from an area near the North Korean capital, Pyongyang.

Kim said the test was designed to demonstrate the destructive power of nuclear weapons, according to state media.
“If this weapon is used, the military infrastructure of the adversaries within the attacking range will not be able to survive,” Kim said.
