Kanye West’s Wife Bianca Censori Details Rehab Stay: ‘It Changed My Life’

“I needed to work on myself because I had patterns of things I was going to do that would not only harm me but would also harm the people around me,” said Censori, 31, he said. Vanity Fair in a profile published on Friday, February 6. “I put a lot of pressure on other people as the reason for my happiness or the reason for my unhappiness.”
He continued, “I would blame someone else if I didn’t feel well. [Rehab] it changed my life. Was I a completely different person? I was very depressed emotionally, and I can work now.”
Before entering treatment, Censori said he was self-medicating with benzodiazepines. West, 48, ended up paying for his treatment.
Censori remembers telling her husband, “Anything you’ve ever bought me is not worth how much this meant to me,” adding that the price was “ridiculous.”
Since leaving treatment, Censori said he has been “sending messages from the dead.”
“I’m sure people do weird things with astrology. I like all kinds of woo-woo stuff, occult stuff,” he said. Vanity Fair. “I will do the same thing over and over again.”
Censori and West have been married since 2022. During a challenging time in their marriage, the rapper re-entered a treatment program in Switzerland last year during his battle with bipolar disorder. (West revealed his diagnosis in 2016.)
“All I can do is stay there and help,” said Censori with tears in his eyes. “This year has been like doing CPR for months. I have love and compassion for him that he was able to do that, and I understand that the world can’t.”
West praised Censori for encouraging him to seek treatment.
“At the beginning of 2025, I fell into a four-month episode of psychosis, anger and uncontrollable behavior that destroyed my life,” he wrote in an open letter published in The Wall Street Journal last month. “As the situation got worse, there were times when I didn’t want to be here anymore.”
West continued, “When you go into a crazy episode, you’re sick at that point.

“Bipolar disorder comes with its own defense system. It’s denial. If you’re a crazy person, you don’t think you’re sick. You think everyone’s overreacting,” he added. “You feel like you’re seeing the world more clearly than ever before, when in fact you’re completely powerless. … Things got worse when I ignored the problem for a long time. I said and did things that I deeply regret.”
West concluded, “Some of the people I love the most, I treated them the most. You endured the fear, the confusion, the shame, and the exhaustion of trying to be with a stranger, at times.
