Justin Baldoni Tells Blake Lively How ‘Beautiful’ She Is In Voice Memo

The memo is the latest unsealed court filing, and it comes just days after Us Weekly obtained a separate memo from Lively in which she talked romantically with Baldoni while discussing how overwhelmed she felt about returning to work and filming back-to-back projects after giving birth to her fourth child. (Lively shares daughters James, 11, Inez, 9, and Betty 6, and son Olin, 2, with husband Ryan Reynoldsetc.)
“Hey. I hope you’re doing well. I just wanted to connect to put something on your radar. So, between us. Like, it’s too early for me to share this with you. All good, all good things. Great article, good, good things,” Lively began in the message, which was sent in February 2023 during pre-production. “But I was talking to Ryan [Reynolds] and I was like, ‘I don’t know if I should share this,’ but he was like, ‘You guys have a lot of confidence, you know. Fill him up.’”
He continued, “Just the idea of going back to work every day and the thought of, you know, preparing for our movie and wanting to rehearse every day and all that but being on set every day. I’m like, ‘What have I done?’ The only reason is that I do [that movie] before it was because I gave them my word and I never went back on that and felt like I had to make it work. But having a week off, it’s just too much. It’s a lot.”
Lively explained that she was “terrified” of getting so close to the “reality” of the shooting, admitting that she only wanted to “focus” on it. It ends with us.

At the end of her voice note, Lively concluded, “It’s nice to talk to you. Not to talk to you, this is very painful. This is my social interaction these days, I just talk through voice memos. It’s okay, I hope you’re well. Send my love to your family who doesn’t know me. Take care, bye.”
Both costars’ voice memos were sent nearly a year before Lively sued Baldoni for sexual assault and defamation. Baldoni denied all the allegations against him and sued Lively, but the case was dismissed in June 2025. Lively’s lawsuit is still ongoing and they are scheduled to go to trial in May.
The voice memos are a small part of the recent unsealed documents that contain thousands of emails, text messages, depositions and more related to the case.
