The invitation, dated April 2018, appeared to be from Rowling, now 60, and the producers. Sonia Friedman again Colin Callender.

“Please confront Jeffrey Epstein’s assistant,” Siegal wrote. (Callender told Deadline that he was not informed that the tickets belonged to Epstein.)
After The Cursed Child In the premiere, another set of emails — this time between Epstein and Siegal — say the borrower was turned away at the door.
“I couldn’t get in,” Epstein wrote. “No big but I thought you should know.”
Despite Rowling’s denial, social media users used the alleged invitation to restart the conversation about the author and her controversial beliefs.
In 2020, Rowling wrote an article that was shared and a series of posts on social media that appeared to be transphobic. He received widespread backlash – especially from the original Harry Potter movie stars – about his ideas.

The actress, who played Hermione Granger in the game Harry Potter The film franchise from 2001 to 2011, did not speak publicly about Rowling’s controversy until late last year.
“I don’t want to say anything that continues to fuel a really toxic debate and discussion, maybe that’s why – that’s why – I don’t comment or continue to comment,” said Watson, 35, during the “On Purpose With Jay Shetty” podcast in September 2025.
Watson explained that her “deepest desire” is to keep loving people who “don’t share the same views” with her. (Rowling said in April 2024 that she would “never forgive” the actors for their views.)
“I would love her. I know she loved me. I would thank her,” Watson said of Rowling. “I know the things he said are true, and there can be all of this and my job feels like it’s all about you.
