Influencer Wang Weiqian Dies at 28 After 5-Year Cancer Battle

Taiwanese promoter Wang Weiqian He died after a five-year battle with lymphoma, which he initially said was fatigue at work. He was 28 years old.

Weiqian’s death was confirmed in an Instagram statement signed by Huanmu Biotechnology Co and posted on his personal page on Thursday, March 19.

The company noted in the announcement, which was translated into English, that Weiqian was “the manager of the company” before he “unfortunately passed away recently.”

Weiqian also founded the intimate care brand Hermacy. A company spokesperson told the Daily Mail in a statement after her death, “Since Ms. Wang was the core of our company’s operations, after careful consideration, the company has decided to officially suspend operations.”

In addition to being a businesswoman, Weiqian was an influencer and content creator. He wrote about his journey with cancer after being diagnosed in 2021. (He called himself an “ambassador for the fight against cancer” in his Instagram bio.)

Weiqian gained attention from his more than 18,000 followers after he revealed that he initially ignored the pain symptoms in his armpit after thinking it was just fatigue from his work.

“One day, I suddenly felt severe pain in my armpit. But the pain did not go away; in fact, it got worse,” she recalled posting on Instagram in March 2022, noting that her friends were worried that she might have breast cancer.

Weiqian explained that after noticing the rapidly growing growth in his armpit, he was immediately examined.

“The ultrasound showed that it was a normal lymph node, but its shape was strange.” The doctor said I could continue testing if I wanted to, but I thought, ‘Forget it, it’s not a big deal,'” she told her fans. “Just as I was about to stop, my father insisted on testing. … In this case, the ultrasound scan revealed not just one growth, but a whole cluster of lymphomas.”

Although the exact date of Weiqian’s death has not been publicly shared, the longtime boyfriend of the promoter shared his last photo on March 16. Hyman Chang celebrated 11 years with Weiqian by sharing a photo of them together on their anniversary.

Weiqian, meanwhile, spoke about his relationship with Chang in March 2025 when they celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary.

“People thought that we would probably break up within 10 days, or maybe at least 10 months. However, suddenly, we have been together for 10 years,” he wrote in a book translated into English.

The content creator added, “I still vividly remember the post I shared during our first year together — It contained a song sung by Jordan Chan: ‘I want to walk hand in hand on the same arm, every day.’ And that manual journey has now lasted 10 years.”
