How To Watch Sullivan’s Crossing Season 4 After The Cast Releases

CTVs Sullivan’s Crossing is back for season 4 after a shocking exit — and a secret husband plot — but how can fans watch the show on The CW and Netflix?
Based on the book series by Robyn Carr, Sullivan’s Crossing follows neurosurgeon Maggie (Morgan Cohen) as he returns to his hometown in rural Nova Scotia. Throughout the seasons, viewers have been introduced to her estranged father, Sully (Scott Patterson), new Cal (Chad Michael Murray) and many members of the community.
Sullivan’s Crossing was renewed for a fourth season, which premiered on March 22, 2026, on CTV. After airing in Canada, the hit show will air on April 20, 2026, on The CW and then on Netflix in the summer when the show wraps up on cable.
Before its start, Us Weekly broke the news in March that Patterson would not be reprising his role when season 4 returns.
“Sullivan’s Crossing Season 3 ended with Sully going to Ireland, starting a new chapter in his life. Season 4 picks up the next day, with Sully overseas,” Sullivan’s Crossing executive producer and showrunner Roma Roth told us exclusively. “Even though he’s not a reality this season, the character remains an important part of the world that has the potential to be included in future seasons if that’s consistent with the art going on.”
In response, Patterson revealed what led to her dramatic departure, writing on Instagram, “The creative differences were unacceptable and I realized with sadness that the show was not something I could agree to continue.
Patterson made it clear that it was not his choice to leave Sullivan’s Crossing.
“It is unfortunate that it is now being said that they are from me/Sully when the truth is completely the opposite, and those who have spoken sadly are also well aware of this fact, but still choose to say otherwise,” he continued. “I didn’t mean to make a statement but the fans of the books and the game deserve to know the truth as I have always respected those who support the industry by watching and loving these characters. We are very lucky and blessed to play them and live.”
“Every actor knows what it’s like to love a character and a story. I fell in love with Sully and there’s nothing but love for him,” he said. “I really enjoyed Sully and championed his voice and his character. The richness and depth of Sully, who book fans know and love, is multi-layered and fascinating.”
The statement concluded: “Fans deserved better than to think that the portrayal of this character, me, would not only disrespect the show, but them. Ultimately, we are all fans of these characters and stories, and I will always support and defend the truth.”
