How to watch Oscars 2026 best picture winner ‘One Battle After Another’

Hollywood’s biggest night is over and we have a new Best Picture winner: Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another.”

Anderson, who has been nominated 14 times throughout his career, won his first two Academy Awards tonight for his direction and screenplay, for his adaptation of Thomas Pynchon’s novel “Vineland.”

“One War” follows Bob Ferguson (Leonardo DiCaprio), a former reformer who lives off the grid with his teenage daughter, Willa (Chase Infiniti). Bob is forced to return to his old way of life when a corrupt military officer from his past (Sean Penn) reappears, just as Willa disappears.

In addition to the night’s top prize, “One Battle After Another” took home awards for Best Direction (Anderson), Best Supporting Actor (Penn), Best Adapted Screenplay (Anderson), Best Film Editing, and the first ever award for best acting.
