HBO Max Lineup for April 2026: New Seasons of ‘Hacks’ and ‘Euphoria,’ Plus ‘Marty Supreme’

HBO takes much of the credit for the rise of Prestige TV. Shows like The Sopranos, The Wire, Sex and the City and Game of Thrones have been nomination television, and that tradition continues with new series like The Industry, House of the Dragon, Euphoria, and more. Its streaming service, HBO Maxit’s also home to many great movies, including the recent A24 releases, Studio Ghibli animations and a great music box series of music documentaries.

This April, two of the biggest shows of the last decade will premiere new seasons on HBO Max. The fifth and final season of Hacks arrives on April 9, and the long-awaited third season of Euphoria premieres on April 12. Here’s a look at all the hottest titles coming to HBO Max this April.

April 9

HBO Max

It’s the final season of the Emmy Award-winning comedy Hacks, starring Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder. After famous comedian Deborah Vance (Smart) desperately tries to keep her career alive, fake news spreads that she has died as well. Afterward, he and his co-writer Ava Daniels (Einbinder) return to Las Vegas to make sure Deborah’s legacy lives on. This season, Leslie Bibb, Cherry Jones and Ann Dowd all joined the cast. The 10-episode season premieres on April 9 with new episodes arriving every week.

April 12

HBO

Euphoria returns with Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi and Maude Apatow as high school students dealing with sex, drugs and anxiety in a California town. After a four-year hiatus, the show is back for season 3 (it will pick up four years after the events of season two), although several original cast members, including Barbie Ferreira, Algee Smith and Nika King, are not returning. Expect to see big names like Rosalia and Marshawn Lynch appear in the new season, though. Season 3 premieres on April 12 with new episodes arriving every week.

April 14

If Free Solo made your palms sweat, The Dark Wizard takes that excitement to a whole new level. Dean Potter is one of the bravest athletes in the world; he’s a rock climber, BASE jumper, and highline hiker, doing dangerous things that most people wouldn’t dare to do. This four-part docuseries looks at some of his most dangerous actions, as well as exploring the personal history that led him to an extreme lifestyle. The series starts on April 14.

April 23

Half Man is the newest series from Baby Reindeer creator Richard Gadd. The limited series stars Gadd and Jamie Bell as Niall and Ruben, childhood best friends whose relationship has fallen on hard times. The six-episode series jumps from their childhood to adulthood, when Ruben suddenly crashes Niall’s wedding. The show premieres on April 23, and new episodes arrive every Thursday.

April 3

20th Century Film Studios

Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux and Isabela Merced co-star in the latest film of the Alien franchise, Alien: Romulus, as a group of space colonists who encounter a terrifying and deadly alien while exploring an ancient space station. The film is set between the events of 1979’s Alien and is the sequel to 1986’s Aliens, which hits theaters April 1. Alien: Romulus arrives on HBO Max on April 3.

Black Bear Pictures

Sydney Sweeney got something wrong with her portrayal of boxer Christy Martin, but Martin’s story is truly amazing regardless of what you think of Sweeney’s performance. After marrying her trainer, Jim (Ben Foster), Martin became one of the biggest names in women’s boxing in the 1990s, adopting a fiery attitude and formidable presence in the ring. But when Jim’s abuse threatens Christy’s life, she leaves him, eventually marrying her archenemy. Christy begins on April 10.

Lionsgate

In the Bryan Fuller-directed Dust Bunny, a 10-year-old girl (Sophie Sloan) hires her next-door neighbor, a drummer (Mads Mikkelsen) to protect her from the monster that lives under her bed. He believes it killed his parents. The film also stars Sigourney Weaver, Sheila Atim and David Dastmalchian. It premieres on April 17.

A24

Timothée Chalamet won an Oscar for his portrayal of table tennis champion Marty Mauser in Marty Supreme. As Marty pursues his lifelong dream of becoming a famous player, he travels the world (and the tri-state area) to make a name for himself, all the while facing relentless and dangerous situations. Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara and Fran Drescher round out the cast of A24, which arrives on HBO Max on April 24.

Final Four & NCAA National Championship

Every March Madness game has led to: the Final Four and the National Championship. The men’s college basketball tournament semifinals and finals air on TBS, and will be simulcast on HBO Max this year. The Final Four games will air on April 4 at 6 pm (Conn vs. Illinois) and 8:45 pm ET (Michigan vs. Arizona), and the Championship final airs on Monday, March 6 at 8:30 pm ET.
