Free Britney Movement Defends Britney Spears After Arrest

Members of the Free Britney movement released a statement in support Britney Spears following his DUI arrest earlier this month.
“FreeBritneyLA was created to stand up for Britney Spears’ right to independence,” began a statement shared by the Free Britney LA Instagram account on Monday, March 9. “That principle guided everything we did, and it remains true today.”
Statement – created by activists of the movement Kevin Wu, Leanne Simmons again Meg Radford – He went on to say that Spears’ recent arrest does not justify returning to the job he has held for 13 years.
“It is also common for people who have experienced long-term control and trauma to both need support and have difficulty accepting it,” the message continued. “These realities can exist without justifying going back to the very properties that hurt him. A DUI is not a reason for conservation.”
The statement also noted that their advocacy has helped create “stronger protections” in California to prevent conservation exploitation.
“Britney Spears is a person who has endured extraordinary trauma,” the statement concluded. “We hope she gets whatever care, support or treatment she may need on her own terms, and that the people around her respect her freedom and independence. We love Britney and we will always be there – fighting for her health, her peace and her freedom.”
