FBI Season 8 Has Unexpected Romance, On-Screen Surprises

Season 8 of the hit CBS series The FBI build on an unexpected romance – and on-screen surprises.
The new one Juliana Aidén Martinez he said to himself Us Weekly about what the system is building on, saying, “[Showrunner] Mike [Weiss] and the team is doing such a great job and each episode is getting better and better. It feels like we’re doing Mission Impossible – like an action movie every week.”
Martinez, who plays Eva, is “always in awe” of what’s to come.
“This is crazy but we do it because we have such a big team,” he said. “We have such a great team and I think the fans are going to be really excited to see every episode get bigger, bigger and better.”
The FBIwhich premiered in 2018, focuses on the inner workings of the New York City regional crime office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where employees work to ensure the safety of New York City and its citizens. In addition to Martinez, Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Zaki, Jeremy Sisto, Sela Ward, Alana de la Garza, John Boyd again Lisette Olivera make other characters.

“Before I got on the show, I sat down with showrunner Mike Weiss and he told me what he thought Eva would be. That was the deciding factor for me to be like, ‘Yeah, this is something that’s really interesting to me. This is something that I think I can give and give value to and make it fun and different,'” Martinez told Us. “I loved that she was different than Kate on Law & Order: SVU. I really love that Eva comes from a prosecution background so she’s someone who isn’t afraid to speak her mind and isn’t afraid to be the smartest person in the room. She’s unashamed in that sense and she’s unapologetically feminine, strong and with a big heart.”
According to Martinez, Eva’s story will continue to play out.
“I think trust is something you have to work for [with her]whether you like to say it or not. There was a breakdown in trust when he got into the story where he was with someone who was his partner – and he was with them romantically and professionally,” she recalls. He was very smart and always did the right thing and he didn’t see the person he slept with as betraying him. That’s a deep wound.”
Eva is still adjusting to her new normal, and Martinez adds, “That resistance or that struggle is really exciting for someone who really prides himself on knowing everything before everyone else. It creates humility in him. It also creates the ability to learn to take it as a challenge and as a long journey.”
Regarding Eva’s personal life? Martinez doesn’t exude love.
“We’re going to see romance this season, I won’t say who it’s from but we’re going to see romance,” he teased. “[For Eva]I think his heart is strong enough to find love. So I hope so.”
The FBI airs on CBS Mondays at 9 pm ET.
