I Love How Skinny Oppo’s Foldable Phone Is, But I Hate That I Can’t Buy It

There’s a lot to like about Oppo’s Find N6 foldable phone, now that I’ve had time to test it. It’s powerful, with brilliant 8.12-inch internal and 6.62-inch external displays and a new hinge design results in an invisible crease in the internal display. It also has a triple IP rating for water resistance, which is rare for foldable phones and means you don’t have to worry about using it in the rain (or in a dusty room). But my favorite thing is how compact it is. At 8.9mm thick when closed, it’s super easy to slide into a pocket.
At a time when we see the same companies Motorola, Samsung again Fame push the limits of foldable phone design, the Oppo Find N6 is one of my favorite foldables I’ve tested, maybe even once, which makes me very disappointed that it’s not sold in the US, UK or Europe. You can buy one in “key markets in Asia and Australia,” which means most of the world is denied access to what appears to be an excellent piece of kit. Oppo, if you are reading this, maybe let more people buy it?
I managed to spend some time with one even though I live in the UK, so if you like teasing yourself by reading about fun things you won’t have, let’s go ahead.
Sadly, the Oppo Find N6 will not be sold in the US, UK or Europe.
Oppo Find N6: Design and hinge
The svelte design is definitely one of my favorite things about the phone. It feels thinner than the 10.8mm Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and while it technically doesn’t beat the 8.75mm Honor Magic V6 (we’re talking fractions of a millimeter), I doubt you’ll notice the difference. When open, the Find N6 is only 4.2mm thick.
Despite its small size, it actually feels extremely sturdy. It is made of aluminum, with a hinge that uses titanium and carbon fiber. Oppo says it’s been independently tested to withstand at least a million folds, and its outer screen is covered in what Oppo calls “nanocrystal glass,” which it thinks is extraordinarily resistant to damage. Couple that with IP56, IP58 and IP59 water resistance ratings (it can survive immersion in water, high-temperature water and high-pressure water jets), and the Find N6 is arguably one of the most durable foldable phones around. Still, I wouldn’t give it to a toddler with sticky jammy fingers.
The crease is not visible even under direct light.
The hinge is specially designed to minimize the crease of the internal display, aided by an “auto-smoothing flexible glass” that Oppo says is better at avoiding creases over time. Does it work? Indeed, from what I’ve seen so far, it’s one of the most invisible creases I’ve ever seen on a foldable phone. There is never any interruption when playing games or watching videos. It’s still there, and under the overhead office lights, it’s very visible, but for the most part, it wasn’t a problem for me.
Oppo Find N6: Processor, camera, battery and software
The Find N6 uses Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which scores very well in our benchmark tests. It reaches there among other flagship phones of 2026 using the same silicon. Day-to-day use feels snappy, and it even handled a heavy game of Genshin Impact without issues.
On the back of the phone is a triple camera setup that includes a 200-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with a focal length of 70mm. It’s a solid setup, and while I haven’t been able to test it yet, I’m sure it will take some great shots. Oppo’s camera system on the Find X9 Pro really impressed me, with good exposure and accurate colors, so I expect the same performance here — especially since both phones benefit from Oppo’s partnership with portrait camera maker Hasselblad.
The hinge is small and the camera bump protrudes slightly.
Powering the phone is a 6,000-mAh silicon-carbon batterywhich should be fine for a full day’s use, as long as you don’t spend all day streaming videos on the large internal display. Don’t worry if you run out of juice because it has an 80-watt fast charging cable, which will charge up quickly, as long as you have a compatible charger.
It runs Android 16, which Oppo has added a host of features to take advantage of the large internal display, including multitasking tools across apps. It will play nice too The iPhone Owners, with an N6 can share files directly with iPhones via AirDrop and even answer incoming calls on your iPhone on your Find N6. It may be useful if you use two devices: Work and play.
The interior screen is big and bold.
Oppo Find N6: Should you buy it?
Do you live in one of the few places where Oppo actually sells foldables? If so, yes. It’s a great piece of kit, from its skinny, sturdy build to its powerful processor. It’s undoubtedly one of the best folders around right now, and I’d love to be able to give you the full review treatment to help you go buy it, even though prices aren’t available yet.
Maybe Oppo will change its strategy, but right now, if you’re not somewhere that Oppo sells, then you’re out of luck. Instead, you need to look at Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 and maybe keep your eye on Honor’s Magic V6, which is also shiny and powerful.
