Is it Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2 Based on a Book? What is “The Sworn Sword” About?
Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2 will adapt George RR Martin’s second Dunk and Egg story, “The Sworn Sword.” And, yes, the story is about a deadly drought.
“The Sworn Sword” takes place a year and a half after Tourney in Ashford. Ser Duncan the Tall serves as the “sworn sword,” or loyal guardian, of Ser Eustace Osgrey of Standfast, a “fortress” in the Reach. One day, Dunk and Egg discover that the local stream that Standfast gets all its water from has dried up.
When Dunk and another sworn sword, Ser Bennis of the Brown Shield, investigate what happened, they discover that men loyal to Lady Rohanne Webber of Coldmoat have built a dam to divert the stream there. Ser Bennis cuts one of Lady Webber’s men with his sword, setting off a rift between Ser Eustace and Lady Rohanne, known as the Red Widow, over her husband’s disgrace and ownership of the river’s waters.

Why Is Lady Rohanne Webber Called The Red Widow?
Lady Rohanne Webber is known as the Red Widow because many – and I mean it More – people close to him die in tragic (and sometimes comical) ways. She has been married and widowed four times when “Sworn Sword” takes place. All of his children also died young, which led to rumors that he was a witch.
“I like that this is a place that has seen magic, not 14th century Britain,” Parker told DECIDER. “This is a place where dragons were, builders, people who put bricks and mortar together, saw dragons.”
“Look, at the moment, magic is at a very low level. It’s not that it’s completely gone from this world. It’s very powerful in these places. The fact that every now and then you meet someone who might have played…” he said. “Obviously you’re coming into Season 2 and it plays a big role because we’re talking about the Red Widow and whether she has blood magic.”
Parker then teased that we might see more magic in the force Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 3. “In the third book, ‘Mystery Knight,’ obviously, there’s probably our most important part of maybe the magic or the magic that can happen in the middle of the story. So it’s still there, it’s subtle, but it’s quiet and it’s not at the forefront of the story.

Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2 cast:
Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell will definitely return to Westeros. These two actors will be there Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2, they reprized their roles of Ser Duncan the Tall and Prince Aegon Targaryen.
HBO has yet to release additional cast for the season, but the Season 1 finale suggests that some of the cast may be returning in the new storyline.
In George RR Martin’s books, it is implied that Dunk has Maekar’s permission to take Egg as his squire. In the HBO version, Egg ran away without telling his family. That means we’ll likely see Sam Spruell return as Prince Maekar.
Prince Aerion is being sent to Lys, Ser Raymun Fossoway is about to start a new life with Lady Rowan in New Barrel, and Tanselle has left Dorne, but actors Finn Bennett, Shaun Thomas, and Tanzyn Crawford all told DECIDER they would be game to return to the show.
“We’re going to have a game, just me and Shawn,” Bennett said, reaching over to hug his cosar. “Yes, I will.”
“Yes, one hundred percent,” said Thomas. “Who wouldn’t want to go back to that?”
“I’ve grown to love Tanselle’s character and I’d love to see her journey continue,” Crawford said. “And I think the connection, even though it’s short, with Duncan and his build, I think it’s very important. So yeah, I’m excited to see what happens.”
Between dream sequences, new storylines, and unpublished, unfinished stories, there’s a chance you’ll see your favorite Season 1 character again.
