Dolton Dictator Tiffany Henyard running for Georgia Republican in political comeback

Changing cards.
Disgraced “Dolton dictator” Tiffany Henyard has abandoned the Democratic Party and is running as a Republican in Georgia in an attempt to make a political comeback a year after her embarrassing ouster in Illinois.
Henyard, a self-described “super mayor,” filed to run as a Republican in the Georgia election for the Fulton County Board of Commissioners in May, according to county election records.
The 42-year-old is running for District 5 commissioner and is one of five candidates, but the only GOP candidate.
District 5 covers areas southwest of Atlanta, including South Fulton, Union City and Palmetto. President Trump’s rival from Georgia, Fani Willis, is the Fulton County district attorney.
Henyard qualified to vote on March 5 — more than a year after his celebrated exit from Illinois politics including his disgraced stints as mayor of Dolton and supervisor of Thornton Township.
In his roles, Henyard faced a number of damaging allegations. He said he oversaw off-track spending, allegedly making more than $43,000 in Amazon purchases in a single day when municipal finances were tight.
The FBI launched an investigation into Henyard in 2024 following the allegations.
Henyard was accused of misusing taxpayer money on lavish trips and his $1 million police detail, but an investigation into the funds was blocked by the sitting mayor.
He has been defending himself with scathing criticism and accusations, calling the backlash a smear campaign and labeling it fake news.
His downfall was completed when he lost the Democratic Primary for Thornton and the Democratic Alliance mayor of Dolton to current Mayor Jason House in February 2025.
The self-styled politician launched a political rebirth – which he dubbed “Project Phoenix” – during a Facebook Live session on Wednesday, saying his critics and “fake news” could not stop him.
Henyard shared that he moved to Georgia and was ready to change Atlanta and Fulton County.
“Project Phoenix, I stand up, I show the world what it looks like to get out of the conflict. I show the world that if they keep trying to tarnish your name, you keep going. Don’t ever give up,” Henyard told his followers.
Henyard said he has been working to fix Fulton County jails that have been neglected for decades by current leadership.
“Citizens are tired, they are looking for a new leader, new leadership, they are looking for new direction, they are looking for someone who gives hope and change and actually does what he said he would do and that is Tiffany Henyard,” he said.
“Anyone who knows me knows that I dress for my city, they know that when I come, we come. And they know that if we start making noise, change will happen. Because you can’t expect change without making change,” said Henyard.
The Illinois native said he had the knowledge from his previous positions in Dolton and Thornton Township to become a Fulton County commissioner.
“I have real strength, power, and knowledge. I have everything it takes to help people,” she said.
