Taylor Armstrong apologized for his controversial remarks about Bad rabbitSuper Bowl LX halftime performance.
I Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 54, received criticism on Sunday, February 8, after showing her face on Russell Crowe‘s The Gladiator character in an Instagram news post. He wrote alongside the photo, “Were you excited? Shame on the @NFL and Apple for the Super Bowl halftime show entirely in Spanish with the Cuban flag!!”
The reality TV star, however, has now issued an apology via her Instagram Stories, explaining that she “originally did not connect” with the “creative approach” of the half-hour performance.
“I want to address my previous Instagram post about the Super Bowl halftime show. My post did not fully reflect my heart or respect for the artist and culture at large,” Armstrong wrote on Wednesday, February 11.
He continued, “The Super Bowl is a huge American culture, and although I personally had no connection to the creative process of this year’s halftime show, that doesn’t take away from the fact that Bad Bunny is American and that the Spanish language is a prominent part of American culture. Obviously, my lack of awareness of Latino culture made me wrong.” [sic] a flag like that of Cuba.”
“I’m very sorry and I plan to learn from this in the future. America is special because people from all cultures and backgrounds can come here, share their talent, and make their dreams come true. That diversity is something I really respect,” Armstrong continued.
“My intention was not to offend anyone’s culture or language, and I am very sorry to those I hurt. I should have given myself more time to think about my thoughts instead of just posting false information at that time,” he wrote.
Armstrong concluded, “I apologize to the Latino community and anyone else I may have offended. I’m always learning, always growing, and I appreciate the opportunity to clarify my heart and move forward with more consideration.
Armstrong was one of two Bravo Housewives who sparked controversy with their comments about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance on Sunday. The Real Housewives of New York City alum Jill Zarin was fired from the upcoming E! docuseries reunites the original stars of the hit reality show after sharing similar divisive comments.
