Boston Blue could bring back Blue Bloods’ Tony Terraciano After rematch

Boston Blue Mika Amonsen weighed against the odds Tony Terracianoreprising his role as Donnie Wahlbergscreen son behind his brother, Andrew Terracianoit was dismissed.
During a special interview with Us WeeklyAmonsen shared his hopes for who would play his character Sean’s brother, Jack, saying, “I would love to see Andrew’s older brother in it. Of all people – honestly – that idea has been tossed around. Whether that will happen or not, I’m not sure.”
He continued: “But if I could choose anyone it would be him, and if he’s open to that it would be amazing, we can do it, I’m hopeful.”
Blue Bloodwhich first aired in 2010, followed the lives of the Reagan family, most of whom worked for the NYPD under the leadership of NYC Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck). Frank’s father, Henry Reagan (Le Cariou), was also the center of the show along with Frank’s children: daughter Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) and sons Danny (Wahlberg) and Jamie Reagan (Will Estes).
Wahlberg portrayed the eldest son of Frank and another police detective who was married to Linda Rose Reagan (Amy Carlson), with whom he shared sons Jack (Tony) and Sean (Andrew), before his death.
Viewers have seen Jack and Sean grow up before their eyes, so imagine their surprise when CBS ordered Boston Blue spinoff, which focused on Danny’s relationship with his younger self – with a twist. Before Blue Blood premiered in October 2025, the role of Sean was recast by newcomer Amonsen.
“I had a call from someone – actually on the day of my graduation – and they had spoken to my mother and she called me. [crying]. They were like, ‘Maybe they want a different Sean,'” Andrew said to himself Us December 2025 about the change on the screen. “Shortly after getting the news, Donnie called me. It was a really good time to hear from an old friend, but also someone he respects a lot and learned a lot from.”
Andrew expressed gratitude for his time Blue Blood.
“It’s great because you’ll always remember every single line and that every day you had a chance to be that character,” he shared of his time on the hit CBS series. “It doesn’t mean for a second that someone else can’t go and do something good with it.”
Andrew continued: “I got the joy of playing Sean, and I sent him out into the world. Now someone else gets that joy. We’re both going to show what we do and send Sean out into the world.”
Amonsen called the weather a setback after rehearsing the “most challenging” part of the gig.
“That initial pressure from the fans and making sure I represented Sean the way Andrew did [Terraciano] I would appreciate it, the fans would appreciate and understand that I wasn’t just going into this a long time ago or whatever I wanted [was hard],” Amonsen shared with Us about playing the Boston Blue version of Sean.
Amonsen was very grateful for the support he received.
“It’s been well restored and I’m happy about that. But I think that was the biggest challenge. Right now, I’m comfortable,” he said. “I don’t feel a lot of stress and pressure. Donnie has done a great job of making me feel very comfortable with everything that’s going on. The fans seem to enjoy it a lot, and I don’t feel as nervous as I felt going into it. It’s probably just a growing thing.”
Boston Blue airs on CBS Fridays at 10 pm ET.
