Blue Bloods’ Cast’s Post-Show Plans: What’s Next for the Boston Blue Spinoff

Blue Bloodwhich first aired in 2010, followed the lives of the Reagan family, most of whom worked for the NYPD under the leadership of NYC Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck). Frank’s father, Henry Reagan (Le Cariou), were part of the show along with Frank’s children: daughter Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) and sons Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) and Jamie Reagan (Will Estes).
After the news broke Blue Blood at the end, Selleck explained why he thinks the show should stay on the air.
“I’m overwhelmed,” he said TV Insider in October 2024. “In those eight games, I didn’t want to talk about the end of Blue Bloods but in terms of it it’s still wildly successful.”
He continued: “I will not turn into a sad old man saying, ‘Get off my lawn.’ I don’t believe in holding grudges, but if you said to a television show, ‘Here’s a show you can put on at the worst time you’ve got, and it’s going to make sure you win on Friday nights for the next 15 years,’ it would probably be hard to believe.”
Selleck admitted that his “frustration” came from a program that is often “taken for granted because it plays from scratch.”
“So, how do I feel?” he added. “It will take a long time to fix all this, I remember after the weekend [of the final episode’s shoot]I said, ‘I’ll have to sleep early today because I have to do my interview on Monday.’ Well, there was no Monday. It will only take a little while.”

He also booked a role in Dan Fogelman’s upcoming football drama.
Will Estes
Estes played Jamie Blue Blood after striking roles in The Dive from Clausen’s Pier, U-571 again American Dreams.
Le Cariou

Tom Selleck
