Hi Phillips hospitalized in the middle of a major need for a second kidney transplant.
Phillips, 45, confirmed the news on Wednesday, February 11, via Instagram, telling her followers that she is looking for someone to donate her life while she is in stable condition at UCLA Health after battling health complications during her first transplant. Phillips, who received his first transplant in 2017, was put back on dialysis after his kidneys failed.
“I am asking as a friend, sister, aunt, and, most importantly, a single mother of an amazing and brave daughter.” I need a kidney,” wrote Phillips, who revealed that he was “born with underdeveloped kidneys and spent the first three months of his life in the NICU on blood transfusions.”
“In 2017, I received an amazing gift of a kidney from a dear friend. That transplant gave me 8 precious years of being a mother to my daughter – but I have had many problems since, including the BK virus which led to cellular and antibody rejection,” she continued. “I am currently being cared for by Dr. Anjay Rastogi at UCLA and am back from dialysis. Please help me find a living donor so I can spend more time with my daughter, family, and friends.”
