Arizona Parents Arrested For Keeping Children Locked In A Room Covered With Feces
An Arizona mother and father have been arrested on child abuse charges after allegedly keeping their sons – aged just 4 and 6 – locked up “24 hours a day” in a sewage-stained room, resulting in the children’s developmental delays, according to police.
Sara again Arthur Jackson were arrested on Thursday, January 29, after police conducted a welfare check on the family after receiving an anonymous tip about poor living conditions at their Glendale home, according to an updated statement. Us Weekly.
Police say the caller is worried about their neighbors after seeing a naked child in their apartment. The suspect was working in a nearby apartment and looked at the child while he was working, police said.
Sara, 36, is said to have admitted to the police that she often feels “frustrated” which makes her a “bad mother sometimes.”
“I have no motivation,” he told the police.
Police said Sara and Arthur, 41, and their sons were living in a “horrendous situation” which is of “great concern” to investigators.
“The children were found in unsanitary conditions and showing signs of developmental delays,” said Glendale Police Sgt. Bryan Hoskin at a press conference on Monday, February 2. “One child was speechless and the other was speechless.”
Officers found feces throughout the apartment and noted that there were “pests,” Hoskin said.
The couple told their sons that the bathroom was off limits and even used zip-ties to prevent them from using it. Instead, the children, who were not potty trained, were given a portable baby potty in their room, where they spent every hour of their lives.
“It’s something you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy,” Hoskin said of the living conditions. Out in the barn it might be better conditions than what we saw in this apartment.”
Police say the Jacksons have expressed no remorse for their situation.

“Sara said they put a gate in the room because her 6-year-old son started pooping on the floor, and he likes to throw his poop,” a police statement obtained Us he explained. “Sarah said [officers] the children have never been to school and have never been to a doctor since they were born.”
Speaking to investigators, “Arthur said he works a lot and doesn’t have time to scrub the house,” according to the statement. “Arthur said the children are in the room and the gate is closed when he is at work. He said he works up to nine hours a day, six days a week, and opens the gate when he is at home.”
Both children are in protective custody. Sara and Arthur Jackson are being held on $25,000 bonds.
